I just purchased a 2020 SR5 premium 4Runner. I’d like to put trd rims on this, will any TRD rim fit and work on my 2020? Obviously being stock I have to be careful of tire size.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

It'll fit without issues. You can also slap a 285 tire on it and only rub a little bit. Anything larger than that, trim those fender liners.

What’s the largest tire that will fit on a TRD wheel and work on a stock 4 runner 4x4?

Per tire manufacturers SR5 wheels and TRD Pro wheels do not meet minimum width to run 285s. Only TRD Offroad wheels meet the minimum width to run 285. But many run 285s on SR5 and TRD Pro wheels.

I doubt you can run 285/70R17 stock height. You most likely need a little lift and some plastic trimming.
If you dislike lift and plastic trimming might be able to fit 285/70R17 at stock height with removing mud flaps + body mount chop + bumper cut.

For a fact I know spacer lift like ReadyLift will clear 285s on SR5 wheels without doing anything. Just very minor rubbing. Once you go few trail runs it will rub off the plastic as needed itself. LoL
