Just curious if anyone has had a commercial lift installed in their garage? I have a 15 foot ceiling in my garage and love to work on cars. Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated.

if you get a post lift you'll have to cut out your concrete floor and put in a footer under the posts for the posts to bolt to . They cant be bolted into just the floor as they will pull out and collapse when you have a car on them .... something to think about ??

Not entirely true. It depends on your concrete. I'm not sure what the "standard" pour is, but my garage floor didn't need anything--as determined by the company that sold and installed it for me. I had my home blueprints so they could verify that way as well. Ask the lift manufacturer what concrete specs are needed. I've been using it for over 10 years, and I plan on taking it with me when/if I move!

One thing I do think people forget when they start down this path is the electrical. Most commercial-level lifts require 240v. Only 110v lift I know of is the MaxJax. But it's not a full-height lift and it's grossly over-priced. I paid around half of that for mine installed.

Be sure to spend the money on a decent name brand lift. New or used. Some scary ones out there.
