I recently replaced the main body ECU on my 2024 SR5P. Everything is working fine except that the SiriusXM icon is missing from my head unit. I've tried all the suggestions I could find (disconnecting the battery, pulling radio fuses, checking plugs in back of the head unit, hard reset), and nothing works. Anyone have any other suggestions?

It's still under warranty. Take it to the dealership and let it be their problem, not yours.

My wild guess is that this is an issue with the head unit, not the ECU. It's possibly not detecting the radio HW or antenna due to a cable being disconnected.

This is what I'm thinking. I've seen other threads about Sirius disappearing after disconnecting the car battery, then showing up again later. Not just on 4Runners.

Never mind. I saw your other posts about your modification to add automatic headlights.

Given the headlight modification, they might not consider it their problem.

Did I miss something? Where did the OP mention a head light mod?

Even if he did, the two are not correlated.

Oh, they probably are correlated. Gone are the days where your lights are controlled simply from the stalk on the column.

I disagree. If it was, then it would cause the radio to short out or not work at all. It wouldn't wipe out ONE app on the head unit.

I vote for correlated. That problem can be caused by a cable that was disconnected (intentionally or not) to do the other work and perhaps now isn't connected well. Either the satellite radio HW isn't getting power, or it doesn't have good connection to the head unit.

I couldn't figure out why a body ECU would be replaced on a 2024 4R...then I remembered a thread where the OP wanted auto headlights, and this was a byproduct of that modification:

    https://www.4runners.com/threads/auto-headlights-on-2024-sr5-premium.40813/

He was asking the same XM question on that thread, but I guess he decided to come at it from another angle...

I want to agree with you, it doesn’t seem right. However, in the first post of the other thread, the op states they have the same problem as the person they followed with xm.

Yeah, I read the link that @glwood54 posted, and I read the link inside that link. I'm not sure how the two parts talk, but they do. Turns out, I'm wrong. This is a first! I'm never wrong on Sunday's.

Yeah, we'll go with that. I'm actually in Tokyo right now; where it's almost 2am on Monday.

I understand why you would think that. I still have to remember that there are over 90 "computers" in a 4Runner (IIRC). A little tough to wrap my head around. And so many of them do talk to each other. Talk about making something complicated!

You just forgot. And it is Monday in Tokyo. :D

With the help of the OP, I completed the mod. However, I am in the same boat as the OP, no XM Sirius radio.

I'm sure the modules talk to each other for power, when sensors are working to mute the radio, etc. I would check that the pin outs are all the same, for that. But the totally weird part is that the app was totally deleted from the radio OS and not just inoperable.

Does the sirius show up when switching through the source button? That would tell you if it was deleted or not.

Which brings up the question: does a software update need to be accomplished?

Nope, Sirius is missing from the sources, everything else works fine. I'd like to try reflashing it with the latest software and see if that helps, but can't figure out how to do it, since it already has the latest software.
Also, I tried putting the old module back in, and Sirius returned.

So that tells you that it's the interaction with the new module. Maybe it's not telling the antenna to power on our something. Who knows.

    Really leaning towards ^^^^

Like a lot of radio OSs won't let the usb be chosen if there's no usb plugged in. Same concept but on internal level.

Check the pinning on the new ecm.

Can also get a meter on your sirius antenna connection at the radio and see if voltage is coming through

Here's a pic of the head unit from the bottom, I'm assuming the separate module on the bottom is the Sirius module. Not sure which cable is the antenna, but I don't see any voltage at either the white or blue connections at either end. If I unplug either of those end plugs, everything else seems to function properly; if I unplug the gray or black, I lose my Nav. The 2 wires coming from the gray plug connect to the top row of plugs in the head unit. Not sure how to tell if the Sirius module is getting power?
