5th gen Prices are f***ing out of hand

The GX550 is extremely overpriced in my opinion. $70-$75,000 for fake leather (aka plastic) and same interior room as the previous generation GX460 is not a smart move. The new Land Cruiser and the 6th gen 4Runner will be very similar. I think the only difference is the available 3rd row. This Land Cruiser on the US market is a fake one. The real deal is the previous generation V8 or the 300 series with 3.3 diesel engine.

 

This Carista gizmo let's you roll the door windows up and down with the fob. Doesn't work for the hatch window. Dunno about the moon roof? It let's you program some cool stuff. Seat belt chime, gone. The beep and lights when you lock/unlock with the fob, gone, doors stay locked when put into park. Check. Many,many other options. I made sure that I knew what features I wanted to add or delete before I bought it so I could take full advantage of the free 1 month subscription.

Judging by the price increase with the Tacoma, I bet the 4runner is going to be $10 k more on average. The 24 starts at $42k, I bet the 25 start at $50k.

 

I just programmed mine with the Carista, it will only allow you to roll down the windows and open the sunroof, it won't let you close them.

You are correct. I had to buy the CarTrimHome windows-up harness, too. I had forgot about that. It doesn't work with models that have Blind Spot Monitoring.

300 is fugly. The c pillar is hideous. The lx600 looks fine b pillar forward.



4r is boring too. I cringe when I see a 4r rolling around full of high schoolers. Need a new non peasant rig that’s also good looking.

BMW X7 looks good but don’t feel like losing 50% in the first 3 years plus putting on run flat tires every 2 years for $2500. Mercedes-Benz GLS looks terrible with the new grill and the same issue applies.

The 4runner is boring af on road. At least in the LC200/300, you are pampered with plush ride quality, quite cabin and v8 drivability. Not to mention extra space, better build quality and everything else a step above the 4 runner. And the minute the road ends, it can't hold a candle to the real LC 200 or 300.
There is no comparison between a 4runner and a proper LC 200/300.

I wish more J200 fans bought J200s when they were still on sale in the US. I finally arrived at a place in my life where the price of the 2021 is not a reach anymore, and they discontinued it. LOL.

I'd buy a Jeep for sure if I just wanted a trail toy. There's no denying their capability. Honestly, some of their drivetrains are pretty solid, from what I read. It's the daily driving aspect that makes them less appealing to me.

 

Longer, wider, and heavier are three things I really don't want off road - especially wider and longer.

It's a forum for 4runners and I have a 4runner. Not that hard to comprehend is it. I never said it's bad. I own one. And take really good care of it. It was said in context to the LC.

I am not emotionally invested in any of my vehicles. Now if it was my Hayabusa, I am touchy af.
