Does anyone hide a gun in their 4Runner? If I ever own a gun I would like to hide it somewhere in the vehicle. Any recommendations?

    thanks!

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Center console safe is the best option. However, I am a strong believer that you should never, ever ever ever ever.....leave your weapon in your vehicle. Always have it on your person.

I’ve never seen one of these in person but I’ve always been curious.

I carry a Springfield XD Mod 2 .40 with a left handed holster, it fits perfectly in the lid of the console . I don’t go into places where I can't carry so it never gets left in my truck.

If you ever own a gun you want to hide it in the vehicle? You should have a lot of practice before you ever think of owning or carrying. Worry about that first

I leave it in the center console if I ever have to go to a place that does not allow them unplanned. Otherwise I would never leave it in the vehicle.

If you have an order link for the 4runner for this item, you need to cough it up! This is sweet!

You should read up on local laws as well, some states are very particular about concealed weapons in vehicles.

Ouch. My cornhole just puckered up. Yeah, I'd sooner spend $400 on a new gun than a place to hide it.

Leaving a gun in your vehicle all of the time might not be the best idea. Also, it's probably not a great idea to tell a bunch of randos on the internet where you store it. :notsure:

If it takes you more than about 3 seconds to get to it, you may as well not have it with you.

Chambered or unchambered, that time it takes to rack one may be the difference in living.

This is very important. In my current state, if you are caught hiding a gun in your vehicle without a carry permit then you are going to jail. In my previous state, you could have a concealed weapon in the vehicle without a permit as long as there was a latch between you and the weapon (like the center console or glovebox).

Nah, what you need to do is put a Glock sticker (or brand of choice) on the back glass, so everyone knows you have a gun in the car, lol.

Yeah, in NC, if I have a rifle under some blankets or something in the back of the 4Runner, I'm going to jail (because the cargo area is connected to the cab and therefore accessible). Long gun behind the seat in a regular cab pickup = also going to jail. Pistol locked in the glove box is borderline, and generally up to LEO's discretion, which is not a situation you want to be in either.

I went from a Glock 30, .45 caliber, to the Springfield, so I guess I don't notice the weight. If I'm wearing a suit I carry a G43, much lighter.

    I never "open carry".
Suppose an lunatic goes to the mall with a gun and ill intent. He's first "surprise" target would be the one "open carrying".

I don't "hide" one in my vehicle, but often carry one. If I don't have it on my belt, in a holster, it's usually in the center console. I have one behind the backseat in my truck, that stays there all the time, with ammunition.

Owning a handgun; not carrying the handgun; BUT keeping it in your vehicle - Doesn't make sense to me personally

Keep it at home if you don't plan to conceal carry... leaving a handgun in your vehicle, in my opinion, defeats the entire purpose of stepping into public with it in the first place.

Now... if you're out in the sticks and wanting to rack a rifle, there are custom fab options out there. It's as easy as googling it

I would not hide one in vehicle. First things thieves do when they break into vehicle is look for gun and or other valuables. Carry it or leave it home.
