    That's how I sold my 1997 4runner
My electric bills have doubled this year, I logged into my account and compared my usage to the same time last year. Our consumption is almost identical but my bill has literally doubled. The green deal is going to bankrupt Americans.

You sound as if we can trust countries like China to self report accurate emissions data.

    In which case, LOL.

In Maine, if your not part of a Solar Farm, you have to pay extra to offset the money the solar farm participants are not paying. I’m wondering what would happen if everyone was part of the solar farms.

When I bought my SR5P, the ORP I went to look at was in the sales pickup bay so he tried to show me a '22 Pro with 27k on the clock. My first question was if it would be cheaper than a new ORP and when the answer is no, all could ask is why I'd pay more for a used vehicle with a suspension that's getting ripped out anyway?

Worst part about the Pro is they build the shocks just like the retail units so when you buy that Pro with 27k on the clock, you're already over halfway to a rebuild.

What are people doing when their shocks need to be rebuilt? Shipping them out to Fox and renting a car while you wait to get them back?

You are right my bad. Its not like we have any independent way of verifying emissions into atmosphere.

The fronts are IFP and a lot of shops won't do them so that's about what you'd have to do. Personal opinion is that the TRDP is largely a pavement princess trim and most don't go off road enough to notice the degradation. On-road it feels very gradual over time so you don't even notice like you will when you get on the dirt and feel the fade.

If you think China in fact emits less than the US, then you are more naive than people give you credit for.

Frankly an SR5 with a set of quality shocks from Accutune or something will run circles around the "pro" for 20-40% less cost. The only thing it won't have is the rear locker but with ATRAC it's a none issue. For 4k you can get a helluva system with remote reservior front and back that will make the Pro feel like a minivan.

I guess if the buyer is a suburban office warrior who just wants a package that never needs after market parts and doesn't keep it long enough to run out of warranty then sure, why not. But anyone who knows anything about offroad suspension would chuckle at the "TRD pro" shocks especially at the price people seem to be paying for them.

I just got this email from a dealer. Seems like a lot of money for 40 & 45K miles.

Eh, I have a TRP Pro with the plan on keeping the shocks until 50k mi and then possibly upgrading to Kings. Stock, the truck is plenty capable off road. Is the Pro the best bang for your buck? Definitely not. Even the car care nut said the ORP was the best trim for the cost. That being said, I always find it amusing to see how passionate some people on the forum are at getting a lower trim 4R, upgrading it, and expressing how much better their car is than a TRD Pro. Copium lol

I probably could have held out a bit more, but I was more than happy to get $19,900 trade-in on my 2013 SR5 that had 130K on it. Considering I bought it for 30K 11 years earlier it just shows the 4Runners hold their value. Well, at least the 5th gen, too early to tell on the 6th.

Why all of the hating on the PRO'S? I love mine, I like the options that came with the 23 , it holds value better than any other model. And I went off roading the first weekend I had it just so it couldn't be called a pavement princess. You can get any model you want, swap out the suspension, spend tons of money, but in the end, it still isn't a PRO. Spend your money how you want, get what you like. I liked the options over every other model except the Limited, the PRO holds it's value better and is more fun to drive.

I don't think you read the link I posted. I posted "cumulative" greenhouse emissions. Right now, China and India being developing nations, do pollute higher.
    https://www.wri.org/insights/interactive-chart-shows-changes-worlds-top-10-emitters

But asking them to pollute less now that US is developed is essentially asking them to do what I say not as I do. My point is all a sovereign nation has to do is point to historical, and cumulative numbers. They are polluting because they are still growing economies and it's cheaper for them to use fossil fuel. Exactly same thing that US did when it was in similar situation.

China and India are developing, but in direct competition with us in a huge number of products and markets. The USA is broke and falling behind in manufacturing production and QC, so paving the way for the world in a financially crippling agenda, will be the final nail. China is licking their chops and has no intention of pollution control, now or in the future.

to each is their own, however, it’s been proven multiple times on here, the pro doesn’t hold its value better than other models, yes it’s worth more. But the pro costs more. From what I recall the pro and off road trims based on percentages, hold their values equally.

If I had know about the pros when I bought my 2017 taco, I would have gotten one. But when I shopped the runner, the pro didn’t make $$$ense. I got my ORP, which met my wants.

I'm in the market for a 2024 ORP, what prices is everyone seeing for these? Are dealerships offering discounts on these?

Those are super limited in number right now due to the change in models. I wouldn't hold out hope of a discount and would focus more on trying to find one that meets your needs, they are a dying breed right now.

I've priced out my whole kit and for what I would have paid for a new Pro, I have a full set of Greenlane aluminum skids and sliders, Bilstein 6112/6150 with lift springs all around, a Crestone rack, and I still have the budget to buy a pair of new third members and all the parts to do gears and a locker. Best part is my locker won't be tied to 4Lo either.

I get why some would buy a Pro but you can build a hell of a rig for that coin. It's not like the Tacoma side where only the OR and Pro got ATRAC/MTS (at least with the third gen)... every 4Runner is basically the same other than some trim pieces and things that can be easily added aftermarket.

There's a 2018, 48,000 miles. At my local dealer. I can put a $5k deposit on it and drive away with around a $25,000. loan I think.

I needed/wanted a pickup so I traded it in on a Raptor. I was also looking for local 3rd gen Tundra Pro's (I sorely miss mine) but came up empty. I just can't stomach a hybrid. Will likely add a new GX OT to the family once supply catches up and prices come down.

Yeah they're drying up in the oklahoma city area new and used. The biggest dealer had 4 or 5 new ones and a couple of used . All the new they have listed above msrp because of their BS factory add-ons that they stick you for a few grand more. There is a couple of decent deals on fairly low mileage used if one was in the market.
