The new tacoma is as large as my first Gen Tundra on the outside
    2005 double cab tundra 230" long x 79" wide
    2024 double cab tacoma 226" long x 78" wide
Sitting in a tacoma you feel cramped, actually my 1992 pickup has the same width inside between the door panels as the new tacoma, my 1996-2000 tacomas with the flat door panels were wider between the door panels than the new tacoma.
Sitting in my 2005 double cab Tundra feels like a HUGE truck compared to a new Tacoma.

I have owned at least 10 1989-1995 pickup trucks
    I have owned a 1998 tacoma
    I have owned 3 2002-2005 tacomas
    I have owned 2 2006-2008 tacomas
I have some experience and a tremendous amount of miles in the pickups and tacomas, and the interior of the new tacoma is nowhere near as big as the outside would make it appear.

Whats really weird to me though is if you park a new 5th Gen 4R beside a new 2023+ Sequoia, from a distance they dont look far apart. Like 1/4 mile they look the same size. Get up about 300ft you can tell they are different but not by much. Get up close and you can see the roofline and hood are wider than the 4R but you cant visually see what appears to be more than 3" wider and 3" longer. They ratio of length and width on the new Sequoia doesnt appear to be a whole lot bigger than the 4R but when you sit in the interior of the new Sequoia it "feels" SOOO much bigger than the 4R.

    2024 4Runner - 191" long x 76" wide
    2024 Sequoia - 208" long x 80" wide

It’s a single turbo 4 and also comes with T4-hybrid combo on higher trims as an option on TRD Off Road and only engine on Trail Hunter and TRD Pro

It’s hard to unsee that double fumanchu grille but my biggest concerns are with the backseat legroom. It looks so much smaller than the 5th gen.

Definitely won't be getting first year model. Let them work out the remaining kinks. I'm thinking 2nd or 3rd year, which means keeping my 4th gen going strong which shouldn't be a problem.

I owned a 2023 Sequoia Platinum and now own a 2024 4Runner Limited and totally agree. The Sequoia feels much bigger inside. Totally different driving experience.

Considering Subaru Forester, Outback and Crosstrek sales are up over last year, that may be a good thing, not for the consumer, but for Toyota.

Yup. I’m not a fan of this trend of adding black plastic fender trim to everything.

The facelifted version of the 5th gen with the fangs was pretty silly when I first saw it. And
I still like the darker 5th gens because it hides those lines a bit more.

Where is the SR5? Are they hiding something? Toyota seems awful quiet about it. Something tells me it’s going to have a leaf spring rear suspension and a have a deleted driver side instrument panel.

Top out at $60,000 yeah right! The Tacoma Pro is $65,000 so the 4Runner is going to be closer to $70,000! That's crazy!

Those Limited photos don't do Supersonic Red justice BTW. It's so much deeper and nicer in person. This is a more accurate view to how it looks in-person.

This Supersonic Red reminds me of Mazda's Candy Red. Years ago we called this color Candy Apple Red.

Where is the battery on the new T4R? I hope it's not the same as the new LC, right where all your gear goes. If the rear seats are folded down, is the cargo space flat (or mostly flat) like the Gen5?

It's essentially the same vehicle with a different body, so yes, battery placement will be the same, with a non-flat load floor.

Though with the LC, Goose Gear already has a solution for this.

Same location. At least you can get the new 4Runner in a non hybrid version unlike the LC.

Most of the GM dealers around here have 2 or 3 of the new Hummers on the lot. They don’t look like they are selling too well.

sold Mazda’s when they had the red Mica color, I don’t personally like red cars but it was a very nice layered and deep color darker red. Very nice indeed

Yes! Mazda nailed that color. On a freshly washed car, I swear that paint looks like it’s 4 feet deep.

Yep. Glad I got the 5th Gen 4Runner.

You're gonna have to tie a pork chop around the neck of this 6th Gen beast to get the dog to play with it.

I was buying some coolant at the dealer today and took a look at the LC in the showroom, specifically the rear seats and hatch. No measurements, but the space at the threshold between the load floor and the top of the hatch opening looks about the same height, maybe even shorter than the 5th gen 4runner.

The 6th gen 4runner has a body that is a few inches shorter height than the LC, so no doubt the height of the hatch opening will be smaller on hybrid 4runners. It’s definitely worth verifying the size of the opening before buying.
