Auxito LED headlight bulb replacement - fan vs fanless?

Hi

I've got a 2007 SR5 4x4 and am thinking of replacing the stock headlight bulbs (high and low beams) and fog lights with Auxito LEDs using the existing stock headlight assemblies. Any experiences with this and also would you recommend the versions with fans or fanless models?

I was thinking of perhaps fan version (more expensive) for the mostly used low beams and fogs and maybe the fanless version for the high beams which aren't used as much.

If you haven’t bought any yet and it’s ever foggy where you live, check out the Boslla B4 Bullet. They’re pretty cool and I’ve had them for a couple of years with no issues.

I live in a 1950’s era state that prevents any upgrades to headlights due to State Inspection requirements. I swear the State Police in Virginia has not modified or updated their standards to be up to date with today’s technology…….

 

I'd consider the morinoto 2-stroke (fanned version) for low beams and some OSRAM laser 100w halogens for your high beams...There's a sale going on the morimoto stuff and they're incredible bulbs, though more money than halogens. The OSRAM are also incredible bulbs... consider relating your headlight harness and that alone will make your current bulbs 80% better light output... the factory wires prefer not having a lot of voltage through them and should really only be used for the trigger on/off...

On Tacomaworld there is a very popular upgrade called "The Ultimate Headlight Upgrade" that upgrades the wiring harness for the headlights with more powerful OEM type bulbs. I've done it on my 2014 Tacoma and it is night and day better. Its a kit someone makes, very easy to install. I should look to see if they do something similar for the 4th Gen 4runners.

 

That would be a huge update for all interested in seeing better while driving at night!! Relays are terrific!!

 

Well i kind of forgot to look back into this until this morning. So "Headlight Services" makes the harness for the 1995-2002 4runners, not our 4th gens. Bummer!

I suppose the $10 ones on ebay can be re-harnessed with the "right" bub connections...I sure .iss the days of the pre-made harnesses that worked! Thanks for checking!!

 

Before you switch to LED, be aware of an issue I learned about a couple of years ago and forgot until it recently happened to me on vacation 1200 miles from home. It sounds crazy, but aftermarket LED bulb fans can trigger a phantom fault in the ABS system, resulting in panel lights and codes. Toyota even issued a technical service bulletin about it that covers 5th Gens but it can happen in 4th Gens as well. explains.

I've always run the fan less bulbs because I hate hearing those things.

Never really had any issues so far.
