Hello all, the day is finally here! After being told we wouldn’t receive the new SR5 4Runner we had on order because Toyota stopped production, and being totally bummed out, we resigned ourselves to buying someone’s sloppy seconds. However, through random luck or the sweet baby Jesus above, someone else had their financing fall through, and their 4Runner just happened to be the exact same kind we had ordered. So baddabingbaddaboom we are now the proud owners of one of the last 4Runners produced by Toyota. Just arrived in Canada and is now safely tucked in our garage. IMG_8041.jpg

Congrats! We pulled the trigger end of July when plenty were in stock and if we waited 10 more days, would have been slim pickings.

Curious, what’s the production month in the driver’s door?

ours was May 24 - wondering how long they continued production before the 6g conversation began. Guessing June/ July?

I just replaced two old vehicles with new ones, had a Banff wedding, a month long honeymoon through 2 provinces, 6 states and a tropical island stop. I also had to buy a home, all in the span of… 1.5 years.

I’m as broke as I’ll ever be lmao 4 more years until I’m back to being completely debt free. Then we’ll look into mods :spending:

Toyota notified my dealer that it was the end of production on July 26th. So I’m assuming they stopped right around then. What my dealer got was the last shipment, there was no extra stock anywhere.

I didn’t know they put production date on the door, I’ll check.

    edit: built June 2024

First post folks. I have a similar experience as the original poster. I ordered a TRD Off Road in Aug of 2023, knowing it was a one year wait and there was the risk that production could be cut off due to new generation. Was told in early July that I wouldn’t be getting it, my place in the queue would move to the new build. Dealer couldn’t tell me when I’d get it, how much etc….after stewing for a week, I called another local dealer to see if they had more news on new model delivery. Sales person confirmed other dealer’s lack of info on delivery and pricing was accurate. Details from Toyota were limited at that point. Then she mentioned they had a 2024 TRD Pro arriving in August, and it’s available….”keep talking” I said….I jumped at it, and now I wait. The good news is it’s in the country, just not sure where exactly. It arrived at the port of Vancouver in July, and then it was heading east to central location in Toronto. Then there was a brief railway work stoppage. (of course there was! I am assuming it would be shipped via train over that distance) So hopefully it arrived in Toronto and then gets trucked to the Ottawa area where I live first week of September. “All good things to those who wait.”

Just out of idle curiosity, can anyone verify the 5th gen is now out of production?

We paid $62,000 all in (Canadian pesos) and there was a 2023 SR5 on the lot same specs with 30,000 kms for $71,000 all in. Prices are crazy, and will probably stay high for a long time as I believe this generation will be really desirable in the years to come. Especially if you keep one in mint conditions.

Not knocking on 5th Gen, but I think prices have more to do with how UNdesirable new hybrid turbo Toyota trucks are rather than virtues of 5th Gen.

That is, people that are shopping for a new Toyota truck NOPE! at what is being offered and go after pristine used are pushing prices of gently used recent 4Runners into new truck territory.

Toyota, if you are reading this, start offering 4Runner "classic" (similar to Ram 1500 Classic Pickup) to people that are not interested in your new tech.
