    Good Morning!
Day 3 in my 2024 SR5 just wondering if it's normal to smell a tinge of burning rubber smell during the first 100 miles? I was told to "Baby it" the first 670 miles I've just driven around town and 1 exit on the highway back and forth to Autozone etc.
I am going in on Monday just to be sure nothing is wrong, everything seems great otherwise.
Wondering if it's just part of breaking everything in!

Thank you in advance for your input!20240913_170136.jpg

It will be fine, mine smelled like burnt toast for about the first 75 miles. I even pulled over to make sure something wasn't on fire. I am not sure what it was, maybe some coatings of some sort heating up, regardless you will be good.

Does it seem to be coming mostly from the rear tire areas?

Yep, mine smelled too. When I pulled it into the garage, my wife said “your 4Runner is smoking”. I jumped out and said WTF? I saw a tiny bit of smoke, not much. To be on the safe side I pulled it back out on the driveway for the night. Called my oldest son, he’s a Toyota Master Tech, he said it’s just the cosmoline burning off, it’s a water soluble rust inhibitor sprayed on for the trip across the Pacific Ocean (salt water). Welcome to the forum!
