Just drove the Florida Panhandle (I-10) last Sunday. Couldn’t believe how many 4Runners that I saw during the journey! I told my wife “There better not be a 4Runner convention that I don’t know about!”

    Roll on T4R fam!

Yep, lots of T4R’s here in Fla. it’s the perfect vehicle for anything here. Get you through a flood, run from a hurricane, explores the woods or the beach, crawl all the malls, check, check, check & check!

I've been pondering the geographic distribution of 4Rs. Here in NJ, Tacomas and Highlanders appear in what should be their natural proportions, but 4Rs are quite rare. A couple week ago I was in Silicon Valley and other parts of the Bay Area, and they seemed to be everywhere.

Must be on the east coast of FL? I was in Port Charlotte for 6 years and hardly saw any. Wranglers on the other hand. All over. I agree with the rest of your statement. Great bugout vehicle.

Lots of 4Rs in Missouri. Been back 2 months and I trip over the damned things whenever I go out.

yeah, here in north central Florida, about every 5th vehicle is a 4runner, usually 5th gen. funny how things shake out regionally. we visit the Helen,Ga and Bryson City areas somewhat regularly and I see dozens of older (3rd and 4th gens I think) 4Runners. a lot of them still in pretty good shape too.

I forgot about Ocala having an offroad park as well. I can see that being an area with lots of 4X4s.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Here in South/Central Oregon, on the shores of a large lake, there are a ton of 4Runners. As well as other varieties of Toyota 4WD vehicles. In the summer, the local vehicles are mainly the smaller, coupe type cars zipping around. Come late fall, though, the Toyota 4WD SUV type vehicles come out of estivation. Mainly 4Runners.
Heck, one day, in the little town in which I live, I pulled up to the the 4 way Stop we have. I looked, and, and this was back when I had the 87 4Runner I used to have, all 4 of us were in 1st gen 4Runners. Different colors, but all 4 of us were essentially in factory original trucks. We all sat there staring at each other, until ONE of us decided to take off. We split up, and it's never happened again but I've seen quite a large number of 4Runners. I go down into the main"city" that we're local to, and the Toyotas are everywhere. All different years and styles, but nonetheless...

We love our Toyotas, and it shows :D

A lot of 4th Gens, even more 5th Gens, and a fair amount of 3rd Gens here is Southeastern South Carolina, I see at least 20 to 30 a day going back forth to work 8 miles one way.

But there just as many Jeeps, Lexus Suvs, Land Cruisers, Range Rovers, Mercedes Suvs, this areas has a lot of well off retirees who drive most of the luxury Suvs and a lot of tourists.

In a 2 block radius of my house there are 5 4Runners, all Gen 5. Mine (moderately modded SR5), 2 standard SR5’s, an XP and a fairly heavily modded Runner that’s been debadged, but appears to be an OR based on the hood scoop. It’s a cool neighborhood.

Interstate 10 in Florida. Well, well, well. The Florida Highway Patrol released a report that claimed that in 2022 there were 187 gun fire incidents on Florida highways. That's a firearms discharge every other day on Florida highways. Drive a 4Runner and carry a Glock. These people are nuts down here. Stay safe everyone.

given our population numbers, one every other day isn't bad. been driving highways here (I-10 quite a lot) weekly for the last 28 years...never had an issue. Wonder how we compare to Atlanta or Chicago...

Yesss! With Hollister just down the road (south) and the Sierras not far away, there is plenty to play in 4WD. My truck does get dirty even though I am an amateur.

Plenty of 4R's here in central KY. Was in Denver last October and it seems like every other car was a Subaru Crosstrek (wife's car) or a 4R (mine).

Plenty of 4Rs here in SW New Hampshire! Well, not as many as there are Subarus!

I think Hawaii per Capita has more 4r and Tacoma anywhere I have been. Everyone seems to be driving them and so many lifted.

Comment on 2wd SUV. My first vehicle in 90s was a 2wd SUV. We visited family in the mountains in winter and hit a storm. My relatives were shocked they even sold 2wd trucks/SUV. Certain markets they don't exist or are rare.

According to https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/most-popular-car-by-state HI's top 3 most newly registered vehicles are Toyotas ( Tacoma, 4R, Rav4 ) and the most insured vehicle is a Corolla.

I officially name Colorado as the 4Runner capital of the nation. I couldnt believe how many 4 runners my wife and I saw. Easily we would see over 100 in a day. We drove down a grocery store parking lot aisle and saw 10 just in that row.

I-10 is a walk in the park compared to 1-4.

If you regularly drive on I-4, the only mod you need for your 4Runner is a machine gun turret.
