That's what I paid. No lowball and I got a fair trade allowance for my 2010 Corolla with 156k miles.

I've put 10k trouble free miles on my 2021 that I bought in February. That includes the "garbage fancy stuff".

The market for Pro shows some(not all or most) 4runner buyers are certified idiots, willing to pay a 10-20k premium for a shock, exhaust and KDSS-delete package over an ORP.

Yep, they are crazy. But used Tacoma and 4runners have always been high, maybe more so the past couple of years. I look nationally for a near new, low mileage, clean title, one owner, non fleet rental 4runner, for nearly two months. Almost all were within $5-7k of new. So I just bought a new one, exactly as I wanted and before the all the 5th gen's were gone.

Will be curious when the 6th gen's do finally come out, and are officially priced, what affect it will have on the last of the 5th gens. I suspect, there might be a further bump in used prices. Some of us, like myself, are really adverse to a 4 cylinder turbo over the long haul.

I did get a chance to drive both a new Taco, and a buddies new Land Cruiser with the 4cylinder turbo hybrid engine. The new Land Cruiser dash is nicer inside than my 24 4runner, but not enough for me to get over the idea of forgoing the tried and true 4.0 6 cylinder.

I agree, high resale of Tacos/4Rs is one thing. But people out there paying 5-10k more than a new ORP for a 2-3 year old "Pro" with 30-60k miles is the textbook definition of not having two brain cells to rub together.

Holy :goingcrazy: $32K W/93k miles!! I think I between That & $34k for my old NEW 2018 TRD OR 22-Dec-2018. I think they had it listed last Nov. when I traded in for current 4Runner @ $38k W/68k miles! Where do you live? That obviously has a major factor in prices.

It's also climate control which IMO should be included in anything but a base model. The JBL sound system is also included, but that's not a big attraction for me. Why would Toyota include those premium features in a dedicated off road package anyway?

It’s just a parts bin and accessories trim. The pro is actually undesirable for me, due to POs exhaust and useless roof rack.
Hindsight I should have purchased one at msrp, simply due to idiots willing to pay premium on the used market.

Many of the people on this forum prefer the older versions with less tech. IIRC, 2019 was the last year before TSS, so it's actually a desirable year.

We probably agree about the exhaust. I haven't ridden in a PRO, but droney exhaust drives me nuts. I put a Gibson cat-back on my V8 '03 and hated driving it on the freeway after that.

Maybe amazing to Americans, but it’s not pound for pound a “good deal” In Canada. You have to earn so much money here before taxes to buy it, and everything after it is more expensive too such as fuel, insurance, etc.

I do like the simplicity of Canadian models though that are quite different from American ones. Such as every SR5 comes standard (and you can’t change) with a sunroof, leather seating, 4x4, heated seats, heated steering wheel, auto headlights, heated windshield wipers, turn mirror indicators, and a third row. All of which are options you pay for in America such as having to get an “SR5 premium” to get some of those things, this is just standard on SR5. We have 5 models and that’s it SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD PRO. Only the SR5 and limited have three rows, the rest are two.

99% of reasonable 4Runner owners aren’t going to have some aversion to basic sonar/ radar/ 360 camera with terrible quality - in fact, I would say that the vast majority of buyers probably prefer those features (shocker, this site is hardly indicative of that).

But I get it, everyone’s year/ color/ model is “the best” for whatever random and subjective reason they can find.

What matters in this vehicle is the 1GR and the 4WD capabilities. Everything else are just fine touches and window dressings.

The MTM camera system is game changer.. even with its low resolution, you can still achieve better wheel placement, if you don’t have a spotter. Any ORP w/ MTM camera is leagues better than an old beat up pro.

why would any purist not want to have surround view visibility while off roading?

Had a 2018 TRD OR liked it. Now have 2023 TRD PRO & really love it over the TRD OR because of the extra features it has. Looks, Wheels, Predator Steps (vs OEM Running boards), Roof Rack (Reminds me of my 2 previous FJ's)Does what I need a RR for perfectly, vs standard W/X members, Exhaust sound doesn't bother me at all,in fact I like it, JBL sys(Had that in 2012 FJ), Larger Screen, TSS, Back-up alert, lane alert & side mirrors, dual climate cntrl (wife is always colder then me) heated seats/steering wheel. Didn't need/want Moon roof but that's the only thing I'd eliminate, Only pop it up in garage when hot outside to allow extra ventilation.

I do like the ORP's MTM capability on the trail. It saves me a bit of having to stop, get out and look. The angle displays are handy for reducing stress off camber.

    Lol, "reasonable 4Runner owners."

Notice that I was referring to people on this forum, not the average customer.

But, I'll disagree with you suggesting that the vast majority of buyers would actually prefer to have invasive safety nannies.

And, you can add a front camera for pretty cheap, so that's not going to be a deal breaker for some people.

Edit: also, the radar also limits which bumpers you can run to an extent, so that's another negative for TSS.

Also, to your point about everyone thinking their year is the best year; I bought a 2019 because that's what year it was when I bought mine. There's no other reason. I don't care what others like or dislike about any particular model year. I just mentioned the TSS thing because some people don't want those types of things on their vehicles.

I wish moderators were a little involved in controlling what gets discussed in posts here. Politics has no place in a forum for vehicles, and such discussions should not be allowed. Whatever your leaning is on the spectrum, we are discussing vehicles here, not politics. I blame mods more than I blame the members.
