Not much response on these - will a price drop to $800 get any action?

I hate to say this but the tires really have no value. I called three or four shops and asked for a credit, of any amount for take offs if I drive straight from the dealer (less tha 10 miles on new tires)and was offered zero money, all they would do is waive the disposal fee. They also weren't interested in the wheels.

I'd suggest $100/each for the wheels, knowing someone is going to have to pay a shop to remove and replace tires and then they are going to get charged $50 - $100 for disposal.

    None yet.
Or if you would be willing to ship it would boost interest.

Agree w/ above. I initially was framing up a smartass reply to the sale post after I first saw it a few days ago but decided to hold my tongue.

A good price for OR wheels in the used market is around $400 +/-. No one wants those tires. No one is going to give you $1000. Or $800. You are in striking distance of 4 new aftermarket wheels at $800-1000.

Honestly this wasn’t a “what are my wheels and tires worth” thread. I think my pattern of offering them up for a price, then moving that price until I see interest could have been a solid one until you guys moved in and started crapping on my FS thread.

Honestly I’m surprised the forum allows people to do this on marketplace threads. You and the others should have continued to “hold your tongue”.

To the other poster who said they were “answering the question as to why they are not getting any action” - where did you see “why” being asked? The question was whether a price drop would get any action.

i guess this ain’t the forum to sell things on.

Well now you have elicited a response from me.

This is a great place to sell stuff but you have to know your audience. Most guys here are pretty savvy about what things are worth and so they aren't going to play some stupid Facebook Marketplace game of "dude wants $1000 but I will offer him $400 cash money sight unseen". If you are asking an unreasonable amount you aren't going to sell your shit or even get a reply. If you are asking an unreasonable amount and then adjust it down to a slightly less unreasonable amount then you aren't going to sell your shit. If you then get salty when people point this out then you guaran-fucking-teed aren't going to sell your shit on here.

Do a search on here for what you want to sell before you list it. Find a few older sale ads for the same item and look at the pricing and which ones sold and at what price. Then price yours accordingly, or less. Or don't, I don't care. You can make a sweet coffee table out of those wheels you aren't going to sell, I guess.

I see you deleted your post that started this whole thing, you know the post that said something to the effect that “if the OP didn’t like your post you’d take it down”. Then you post this. Nice work.

I’ll edit the post to remove the ad. Thanks gents.

Post them on fb marketplace. You'll get $800.

But if your just trying to unload the parts for cheap this is the forum to do it. Trying to help another member out.

It's called a rhetorical question. And placing it there certainly didn't make me deserving of a bunch of forum rule-breaking responses:

I chose not to tell you the other day, your asking too much, and I disagree with your thinking that we shouldn’t be able to discuss prices and items on a for sale thread. If you want to sell in this community, then you need to allow the community to talk about it. The community should look out for each other, and someone with about 20 posts, hasn’t really made themselves part of this community.

edited to also note, you have been a member for just over a month.

FB Marketplace is a more suitable venue to sell car parts, rather than buying from some new forum member with no profile pic, or even a location noted in his profile.

I didn't see the pics so no idea on condition.

But here new stock rims with tires would sell all day for $800 just need to be firm and willing to sit on it.

Its cheaper than buying new tires and you get rims with it. This is what I did with my Tacoma just bought new stockers and did the TPMS my self. New tires alone locally would of been $1k+

They were stock trd off road wheels not the TRD pro wheels with the Dunlop’s that for some reason Toyota puts on. The stuff that a large amount of people trade out of asap.

I see the same setup go on market place well under 500 all the time.

    Its all about location.

Stockers with low/no miles and rims sell for $800 just need to be firm and it will sell.

Stock ORP wheels are good ones for off-road use. They do a better job of protecting the valve stems than most aftermarket alternatives. Cosmetics aside, I prefer them to the Pro wheels. The only reason to swap them out is to run 285 or wider tires. If you're willing to break the set you may be able to sell them to folks looking to run 5x ORP with a matched wheel on the rear bumper.

This is a community and not an auction house. As a community, they will protect members from unreasonable pricing.

I'm not the only one that suggested $800.

Again I didn't see the pics or the original post. But brand spankin new I bet he could if he was willing to sit on it.

Don't get me wrong I'll tell someone if they priced their shit out of this world.
