Hello from 10,000 ft in Colorado!

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself. Just moved to a small town high up in the CO Rocky Mountians. Had multiple Highlander’s before but just got my first 4Runner. 2024 TRD Pro. Looking forward to participating in the forums and seeing what mods y’all have done!

Leadville is the spot. 10,158 feet.

 

Mind me asking what winters are like? 10k feet sounds like snow could really build up.

I'm in CA, Bay Area. There's Sonora Pass to the east that goes over to Nevada. It gets up to 9,300 feet at the most and they close that road every winter sometimes half the year.

I'm picturing 10 feet of snow on the side of the road after plows run.

Not OP but the unpaved passes near my place sometimes don't open up until July 1. Paved pass is 11.5K but gets plowed. In the recent years we've had avalanches and rain issues washing out soil/rock crippling the region. That's no bueno but better than the miners had it 150 years ago.

 

born and raised in Denver and I have never been to Leadville at 40 years old... Adding this to my list. Thanks and welcome!

Leadville winters are cold, but there’s very little humidity so it’s not bone chilling. We do get snow….last year we got about a foot and an half on Mother’s Day. I love it here.
