Uh huh. Sure does. But the difference is it only takes 5 minutes or so to refuel instead of waiting for an hour or more at a charging station that you might have to wait in a long line to get a charge.

I've only towed with the 4Runner once and it was not a particularly heavy load. Yes MPG took a hit, but not 2/3s. Maybe 1/3?

Facebook can be pretty awful. There's no shortage of negativity, and lately seems overloaded with people criticizing everything they don't like as though the people who do like the subject at hand are wrong for liking it.

But, you can find a lot of cool, positive stuff as well.

Side note: I'm not a boomer, but I don't care for the CyberDumpster. I'm no mad about it, though. I just think it's dumb and ugly.

You definitely see reduced fuel economy. But, it seems like EV range is reduced disproportionately, from the testing I've read about.

It can be all over the place, depending on how heavy the load is, how large (wind resistance), and a lot of it is based on your driving habits. I usually see about a 20% reduction towing my pop-up.

You know what, I misread that: I was thinking 2/3 of normal range (reduced by 1/3 like you just said).

That is much worse than I expected. I usually get 12-16 mpg while towing, depending on speed and city vs. highway, so usually 2/3-3/4 of normal driving.

And some reactions to make it fun. I assume this forum, like most forums, is owned by that Canadian company called Vertical Scope.

Vertical Scope? Do they have a finger in the colonoscopy business as well?

Hell, if he posted it on t4r.org (the only other 4Runner forum I care about), they would have just replied to do a search, as this topic would have already been covered. (If anyone even replies, I don't know what's going on over there lately).

Charging times are getting better, just like ICE, took time to get where we are today. EVs will get better, just takes time.

I’d like to get some panels on my house, those dam batteries are $$$$ and I’m not willing to pay yet. However, I see the battery as a must if I get panels.

NO Powerwall yet, but I'm working on it. My "to do" list for tomorrow is to see if I can transfer over my $100 reservation on the Cybertruck over to the Powerwall to get the ball rolling.
I started the process on installing a Powerwall before. Tesla at that time (they may still do) was using a 3rd party installer that I found was difficult to work with. I understand that now
Tesla Powerwall installers are in-house? I'll give it another shot....

Tesla Solar Panels are great, I've lost track of how many years we've had them. 10+ years? I opted to Lease them to lessen my out of pocket expense at the time. Then I bought out the Lease.
Technically Tesla still owns the panels so they maintain, repair and replace what might go wrong. At 25 years, they are responsible for dismantling and disposing the system. By then, I'll see what
the new technology looks like and decide what to do at that point.

Reading on tacoma forums sounds like tacos get about 10mpg towing a trailer and getting close to 1/2 is to be expected towing with a gas vehicle.

I was getting 20-ish with the runner at first but that was a lot of hwy. Now that I'm retired its skewed more to stop and go and seem to be settling in at high 17s/low 18s. I think on that tow trip I got 14? Maybe 12? All in all I was pretty happy with it.

My experience is half for a gas vehicle, not 1/3 (cut by 2/3), diesel probably ends up with about 2/3 range.

Yeah, I misread and thought he meant 2/3 range, not cut by 2/3.

Woof. Is that indicated on the dash, or corrected for the taller tires?

Yeah there's one around me in some sort of red wrap but it's matte and more of a cranberry-ish and looks like ass IMO.
