The ash from the wild fires has been really bad this summer. Washed the truck and the paint still felt like 150 grit.
Gonna wait until the fire season is over and the air quality improves, then it’s time to clay bar.

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to pick up a clay bar to clean the windows (windshield mainly) and the head/tail lights. I don't think the rest of my truck needs it, yet. When I run my finger across the body panels they feel smooth like glass.

Thankfully, the O'Reilly's is a stones throw from my house AND right next to the car wash place that I go to on a regular basis. I have one of those yearly unlimited wash passes with the "Ultimate" wash package.

I'm a big fan of Chemical Guys clay bars and polishing products. Solid choice in sun-soaked AZ. I did mine last fall, and so far it's still looking good!

That’s the exact product I use. My paint was baby smooth too earlier this year. I was actually surprised how rough the paint had become by the ash from this summer’s wildfires.

I dedicated one bar (and almost 1hr of work) just on my windows and lights. I barely got anything from the side/back windows but the windshield had a little bit of grime/dirt/etc on it. After I clay barred it I could see a difference.

I know it sounds nit-picky, but before I could see little specs of dirt n shit when the sun would hit it just right. Now it's clear again. The kit came with two bars, so I have some for the next time...or if someone needs a clay bar...I have two to donate.
