I haven't sobered up since the last time I posted in this thread.

 

I’m getting ready to crack this one.

 

I just got back from Total Wine, they did not have any Fortaleza so i had to settle.

 

Stumbled upon one of my favourite IPA’s, at a tiny liquor store in Gastown, Vancouver. I’m afraid to say I think I’m retiring from IPA’s tho, hell I’m almost 36! they are too much for me now.

 

JD with Sparkling Water as usual here....my wife is trying out a new recipe tomorrow for Tequila chicken with Jalapeño chilies as part of the marinade. I'll let you folks know how it turns out!

Here's the report: Recipe called for 1 cup of Tequila. End result, a little overwhelming. I'm still producing "vapors" I have never experienced.

 

I use PBR to simmer brauts in. I've tried different beers, PBR brauts are the best!

Here's the quick recipe: Costco Brauts, nice big pot, at least 3 "Tall Boy" PBR cans of beer, "SIMMER" for at least an hour+ with a handful of brown sugar, splash of Worcestershire sauce. AGAIN....SIMMER NOT BOIL!
Last half hour or so, add sliced onions, bell peppers. You can fish the vegetables out at the end and use as a condiment. Take the brauts out of the pot and grill lightly on the BBQ.
I've made this recipe dozens and dozens of times, probably hundreds+ brauts. Turns out great every time. For some reason PBR works the best.

Time to embrace the lager, as I have.

And not the cheap ass mass produced lagers that taste like watered down yellow fizzy drink.

There are plenty of good quality delectable lagers from craft breweries out there. More than ever, in fact.

 

I do brats the same way! Lower heat, gentle simmer, sliced onion, green pepper (sometimes), and PBR. Not sure why, but PBR is my go-to also for brats. It just seems to have the best flavor.

 

Diet Coke shortage here locally. Missed shipment or something so I got Pepsi.

 

Lagers have been my favorite overall beer for years! As @nimby said, not the weak, watered down ones. There are some good micro-brew lagers, but if I had to pick one and drink it forever, it would probably be Hofbrau. Second choice might be Spaten, or Becks. The old German style lagers are really tough to beat, IMO.

Another thing I tend to try whenever I go to a brewery is a Hefeweizen, if they offer one. They can be all over the place, but sometimes they're fantastic!

 

That sucks. I don't drink much soda, but I definitely prefer Coke over Pepsi.

 

I put up a purple halloween christmas tree supposed to be orange leds but they're PINK!

I'm spending the night on my own private (public) island, and drinking tequila drinks. I'm trying this Herradura Cristalino, which I'm not sure how much I like it yet.

 

I like the Herraduro Reposado a little more, but you know by now we all have different tastes.

 

I haven't tried anything else from them. Maybe I'll grab a bottle of the repo sometime to try.

Try green, yellow, orange bell peppers for added color. Sounds like you have the recipe down. Don't forget a generous handful of brown sugar and a splash of worcheisier sauce.

I'll still have a PBR now and then. Usually, it's when I make brats.
