What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

That looks good. I've been thinking about a bug deflector on mine too. Yours looks good, my runner is mgm as well. Is that an Avs?

 

Yes, these are 20 degrees up, no top plate, no kick out.

 

My girlfriend was able to use them as a step, but there isn't a ton of room there. I like them because they are beefy and serve my needs as a rock slider, but they are not too big and prominent. If a step is more of a priority, the flat version with a top plate is probably a better choice. Check out Westcott Designs website for more options.

Not sure if this classifies as a mod, but I figure with the “force” on it’s way mucho horse power should be gained!

 

Probably 6-8 hp increase but they can be stacked .

Oil change and greased the drive shaft. Then took the wife to pick up a new rug for the house that "we just had to have".

Heritage grille installed. It was considerably easier than I expected.

 

Installed the leather transfer case shift boot with red stitching. A bit of a pain, but it looks so good with the leather seats and the rest of the interior.

Question for you guys with these . Do you feel that they actually do anything in regards to protection and or deflecting ?

 

I have the AVS aeroskin and I only got it for the chips on the leading edge of the hood, not for any type of deflection. Looks like it's doing its job so far

 

yes. My 2011 got peppered up bad without one. Wish i wouldve added one to it back in 2011.
