    Hi All,

My 2014 Limited is leaning 1/2 inch on driver side after XREAS was replaced. Anyone else experience this and, if so, what did you do to correct?

The lean in the front is quite normal, your Xreas likely did it as well. Clip whichever side is low up another notch and level it out if you wish.

My lean is about 0.9 inches on drivers front side before and after removal of XREAS.

Thanks for the advice. I am thinking about having driver bumped up to #2. Will that affect ride quality etc?

Also, I noticed the spring on passenger side has another rung or two. I did see an older thread on that and it's suppose to make passenger side less firm - is that correct as well? Just wondering if that had anything to do with driver side being lower.

I thought the spring with more coils went on the drivers side to compensate for the driver and gas tank.

Does anyone know what side the spring with more coils goes on? I've seen an old thread that said passenger, but driver makes more sense to me as well

Get some decent coilovers and you can adjust per side to level it out nice and easy.

I crawled under a newer Limited tonight. His springs were set opposite of mine where driver side spring was longer and more compressed. I'm wondering if they inadvertently switched mine during 5100 install. I called several Toyota dealerships today and they had no clue about spring being different sizes

This is why I don’t let the dealership touch my 4Runner especially for mods, they’re dreadful. Not bad at the few big fluid services. But Toyota dealer techs lack of knowledge and level of ignorance and arrogance runs deep. Take it truck to off-road shops for off-road parts guys.

    Hey,
0.5 inches isn’t too bad I guess, but would be nice to “fix” one way or another I agree.
I run 5100s on the lowest 0” setting. I have 3” lift springs but really want to attempt myself to lift up to ring #1 (0.85”) soon. I have friends with direct feedback on clicking up 5100’s settings: apparently the first setting ring groove doesn’t feel much different then the lowest 0” setting. But clicking to setting #2 is a noticeable difference, with some new negative attributes to weigh, setting #3 being reported as way to harsh.

Also, I’m not sure you want, or should click up the front driver’s side only. Are you sure that clicking up won’t give you more than 0.5” lift..

    Goodluck!

I'd love to get more feedback on whether or not the springs are on correct side or not before attempting any lifting of driver side. If anyone has a 5th gen Limited (maybe just 5th gen ?) that can look at theirs would be much appreciated. Yes, I am concerned raising to #2 might make it lean toward passenger, so maybe spacer instead of springs aren't the issue?

Hard to see super clear in photos but it looks drivers side is compensating for more weight. I’m not even 100% sure

I can clearly see in @Rocko9999 pics compared to mine that I'm backwards. Question is will that raise the driver side?

@Rocko9999 is your rig level in front?

Yes, it's within 1/32". If you paid someone to install these, they need to make it right. The springs area clearly different. Orientation is important.

I posted in your other thread, but will add it here also - I checked a new Limited in our front parking lot at work, and the springs are the opposite from what you describe on yours. The spring with more coils is on the driver side.

Seems like the consensus, after seeing pictures, is that I need to get my springs switched.

Will this help level out front end is the next question? I'm currently half inch low on driver. Finally, should I have them put the fronts on the 0.85 setting while they are at it. I've read that this is more proper for the vehicle, and without any spacer required in the rear. I have to add that a spacer was added to my rear driver side, and that corrected about a half inch, which I think helped account for driver side weight.

Just pull the whole shock and flip from driver to passenger. There is no reason to bust the springs down off the shocks. Just pull the top 3 bolts and the lower bolt and work the shock out and swap sides.

Yeah. Unbolting or loosening the lower a-arm bolts would be a hard no go for me. Sure that works but it’s a crap ton of time to swap springs. It’s easier to just pull the shock assemblies and swap them.

You are not removing the strut/spring without dropping the lower control arm. This is as easy as it gets.

I have put a lift, lift springs, taller shocks, and spring spacers on dozens of Tacoma’s and 4runners and I have never loosened the lower a-arm bolts. Not once ever. Upper a-arm bolts yes. Lower ball joint, all the time. Lower a-arms never.

It it easier? Maybe so but I’ve never had to do it and I won’t ever do it.

And you can feed the whole assembly out that way? How much finagling does it take?
