I decided to follow your advice. I'll be getting my daily exercise jumping into the vehicle.

Damn! I’ve only been away from this threads couple of days…caught a few fires. I have new tires on order and just got my new luno air mattress for the truck. I am currently looking into doing a prinsu roof rack…but am reluctant to pull the trigger. Now I am thinking about creating a custom off-road recovery kit…I have a winch in my garage but no bumper to mount it on. Anyway I have a list I am starting. Any assistance would be appreciated.
    -36in Sinlge bit felling axe
    -36in double bit felling axe
-14in Single bit felling axe x2 (need new handles)
    -1set of maxtrax boards
    -2x kinetic ropes
    -1shovel
    -2 pairs of work gloves
    -2x tree savers
    -4 shackles
    -2 snatch blocks
-1 hard sided case for equipment

@JROutdoorMedic you might update your profile to include your location. Opinions will likely vary based on location. Four felling axes, as an example, might seem silly to someone in Phoenix. Also, unless you are using them for work, four felling axes might still seem silly.

I wouldn't use two kinetic ropes with the rest of your set up. Kinetic ropes stretch, considerably, and are used with momentum for recovery. Get one kinetic (dynamic) and one static (tow). You won't use kinetic rope with snatch blocks and shackles, you'll use something with less stretch, the static rope. I don't disagree with your other items (I carry all of them), but I'm interested to know how you'll use them.

Four axes is silly. There are other, better, tools; or, there are better ways to bring four axes with one tool; meaning bring one, and sharpen it. It'll provide the break you need anyway. No one is going to use four axes without a break, so just bring one and take the break. Also, it'll be easier to bring a folding saw and an axe; although, today's battery-powered chainsaws are small, lightweight and very efficient. Maybe bring that. A Chopping Axe and a Chainsaw won't take much room, but will provide a much easier and efficient experience.

I am currently in southern Utah but will be headed to Northern California Shasta area in about a month. But yes 4 axes is pretty silly. The two smaller axes are going to be thrown away by my captain and I rescued them. The double bit axes is in My garage in CA. As for chain saws…my gf won’t let me buy a chainsaw something about safety. It’s a list. But yeah. Appreciate the input.

Although I admire folks who are skilled with an axe, an electric chainsaw is more convenient. But you can’t mount a chainsaw on the Prinsu rack.

“gf won’t let me …” Better skip the axes too.

IMO a good bow saw beats an axe for time and effort, even if multiple cuts are needed to get through a trunk or big limb. I've processed my share of trees and I rarely use an axe on anything that's already down. The exception is the one I use on roots.

I have the Westcott roof rack and my skybox fit without any modification. This is from the other side of the vehicle, but you get the idea.

I may have missed it, but I didn’t see recovery points mentioned. Cheers!

    Edit:
I’d add some soft shackles too

Annual (quarterly?) plug for a Silky folding saw (up to and including the Katanaboy). Won't run out of gas, and much faster and safer than an axe.
