Put on some Falken wildpeak at4w 285 70 17 previously had stock size 265 70 17 side by side only about half an inch taller

Trd pro wheels (positive 4 offset) no rubbing on body mount, when I had scs ray 10s with negative 10 offset on stock size wildpeaks they rubbed on the mudflaps

On full lock reverse it was rubbing up front but trimmed the plastic and I’m pretty happy and to me it looks factory

other specs 6112 5160s Jba uca dobinson 2 inch rear coil spring

That’s how you do it. Positive or zero offset will get you there with minimal effort.

    Nicely done

Truth, I was fine with my stock size Wildpeaks on the Pro wheels, but as soon as I swapped them for Blaze 10's with offset (and an 8.5" width), the rubbing started. Little nip/tuck on the passenger mudflap corrected it though. Your setup looks good.

I actually did a cab mount chop on my Tacoma because I have the same tires but a huge negative wheel offset so I was going to do the cab mount chop on the 4Runner even though it wasn’t rubbing the cab mount (in case I wanted to run a negative offset on the 4Runner in the future)and my buddy who did it for me (he’s done thousands of Toyotas in SoCal) said a guy with 34s and a 5th gen 4Runner has an appointment with him next weekend to do an entire cab mount relocation since a simple cab mount chop won’t suffice to clear them

Like I said, not worth it, rub on!

It robs when turning while it is tucked in. Wheels or spacers may help but I don't want to do either

I never really understood the fanatical no-rub folks. If it rubs at full-lock in reverse 1/10 of 1%, who cares. It'll work itself out ;)

On topic.. need some help. Bone stock 2024 SR5 (last of the 5th gens).

Not investing in a lift or UCAs (yet)... this is for beach driving only.

I want new shoes and keep the stock tires and rims for a rainy day,

I have a Costco hookup buddy, so BFGs KO2 in stock size 265\70\17s

I'm struggling with RIMs,... I want a little bit of poke out and fine with a little liner plastic surgery or heat gun magic (no BMC desired ).

Scratching my head on zero offset or -10 on an 8.5 inch rim ?

Would zero offset give me a tickle of a poke out ?

Would -10 give me a headache trying to squeeze it without the rub ( and some mild plastic surgery) ?

    Thanks ( hoping this isn't a hijack...it technically is on topic )

    Mike

With 265 70 17 and negative 10 offset it will most likely rub your mudflaps but you will not need a bmc

Thanks... zero offset may be the " path of least resistance "... although will it peak out every so gently is the question ( I know they say zero offset should sit kinda flush )

Honestly i think it all pretty much boils down to the wheels you are running for the most part. I have a BMC, trimming, UCA’s with no rubbing. Running 285/75/17 Toyo RT’s.

It comes down to wheel offset the more negative your wheel offset the closer your tire will get to your cab mount (turning arc)

Aha... stocks rimmies are +15... probably why you are rocking 285s... nice setup. Although I'm not sure if the trail edition has a different wheel well from an SR5

Wheel wells are the same (other than Pro with the port performed fender liner mod and Limited with the lower bumper skirt).

    Trail/Offroad wheels are 7.5" wide with a +15 offset.

Many aftermarket wheels seem to be around 8.5" wide with a 0 offset (or lower).

Combine that extra width with negative offset and you'll probably need to trim somewhere.

That somewhere can depend on alignment.

You have wheels, not rims. Rims are part of a multi-piece wheel. You don't have multi-piece wheels, so you don't have "rims", you have wheels.

correct, like saying “shoes” for tires. We all know our cars dont have shoes, its just slang.
