Hey all. I am removing my TRD Pro rack to install the Sherpa rack and I have seen where people have had issues removing the rack. I watched the Wescott video where he heats the bolts to neutralize the thread locker. Has anyone successfully done this or used a different method?
    Thanks

When I did my 20 Pro I did not heat them no issue. This time on my 23 Pro I used the heat the bolts up. Do yourself a favor and watch plenty of removal how it done. Take your time and do not rush removing the bolts. There is plenty of info out there.

I took off the rails on my 24 last week, 2 days after I picked it up (all factory rails remove in the same way really). Truck was baking in the sun at almost 95 degrees all day and I had no problems taking the bolts out. Go slow, loosen one first, then the next one, then back to the first one. When I get to the point where both of them are almost out I take one out and then thread it back in a little bit before completely removing the the other bolt. Then I look down into the hole to make sure the bracket the bolts thread into aren't loose or are about to fall into the headliner before removing the 2nd bolt.

If those brackets do fall down, you need to drop the headliner to reposition them.

Thank you. Did you melt the plastic surrounding the fasteners?

Put the tip of a hot soldering iron on the head of the bolt for 60 seconds.
