    Hi all,
I just got my LFD aluminum crossbars. They look good, set up was easy, etc. But I made a mistake. I assumed that the LFD slots would fit maxtrax pins. They don't. What DOES fit those pins? Why doesn't LFD use a universal system? And what do I do now....

Can anyone tell me what pin mounting system works with LFD bars? Can you only use their (very expensive and limited) accessory mounts? I was hoping to find bars with universal mounting points to put stuff up there like traction boards and boxes.
    Thanks in advance!

I got mine from Victory 4x4 and they worked perfect. Lots of hole options for mounting and my MaxTrax fit perfect.

You can also just drill a bigger hole if they are too small so you can fit the MaxTrax mounts. Just make sure to take them off before you drill. ;)

The victory cross bars fit the MaxTrax brand locking pins? Or you just mounted with your own?

The MaxTrax specific pins. Victory cross bars have standard holes, and a variety:

Shoot, that's what I was hoping for! Maybe I'll switch. The victory bars look pretty tight to the roof. Any trouble getting clam shell style yakima or thule roof box clamps under?

Yes, they fit nice and tight to the roof which is the main reason I got them. Super close fit into my garage.

I don't do yakima or thule, but I have a ROAM box i mount to the roof for extended Overlanding, but i made a custom mount out of aluminum for mounting since they didn't have one at the time. I had to mount the MaxTrax pins with the bars off the 4Runnier due to the low profile.

Are those the steel or aluminum bars ? I would think the Victory steel bars would start to rust after the finish on top of them gets scratched or scuffed .

Steel with powder coat. If the finish ever gets scratched off it may rust a little, but so far so good after 3 years of abusing them.

I don't think they make them in aluminum, I probably wouldn't want aluminum anyway.
