HELP I don’t know what’s going on. I bought the Oxilam 921 LED reverse bulbs to swap out my halogens and I installed them easy as pie. They worked when I put them in at night then in the morning they weren’t working anymore. Tried switching them around and still not working. I tried putting bak my halogens and those don’t work either. Now the halogens are loose and don’t snap in correctly!!! Now i have no reverse lights!!!! What did I do wrong anyone!!????

Drivers side under the dash by the kick panel is the fuse block you should be looking for. The 10amp BKUP fuse on the right, 3rd down

Thank u I’ll check that. But a second ago I just looked under there I didn’t see that. Do I have to remove a panel or something to get to the that fuse box?

Just have to pop the cover off. There’s a tab at the top of it, or when you’re feeling around for it, the tab is facing towards the rear of the vehicle

Should be able to pull it and visually see between the two posts if there is a solid wire between the posts or if it appears broken. If it’s broken it’s a blown fuse.

Ok I’ll check. If it’s blown is this sumthn i can get like at autozone or do I have to go to the dealer? And what about the halogens being loose now they won’t stay snapped in. I had to pull off the whole tail light cuz the bulb fell out and wouldn’t stay snapped in

You can get fuses at any auto parts store. As for the bulb not staying seated, not entirely sure on that, unless something broke on the socket when you tried the LED bulbs.

Something caused enough current to flow to the back up lights to blow the fuse and until the cause is determined it more than likely will occur again. Power is only supplied to the bulbs when the vehicle is in reverse so testing would have to occur with the vehicle in reverse.

I would inspect the sockets as close as I could to determine if there is damage to the socket. If nothing is visually wrong with them, check the wiring as far down as you can to make sure there is no chaffing and exposed wire that could cause a short.

Remove the bulbs and leave the the sockets out of the tail light, replace the fuse and put the vehicle in reverse to see if the fuse blows again. If it does, the issue is in the wiring and you’d have to chase it down. If it doesn’t blow then the issue is with the socket or the bulbs and you’ll have to test it out.

Place the 4Runner on flat/level ground and You can just put the key into the start position WITHOUT starting, set the parking brake and place the 4R into reverse to test the bulbs and sockets.

Awesome thank you so much. So do u think the dealership would fix this under the warranty if it is the wiring or if socket is damaged or is this sumthn that I did to mess it up so they wouldn’t cover it? I guess I could just say my reverse lights arent working properly and just stopped working lol
