Having problems getting two bolts lined up and screwed in RSG sliders on a 24 PRO driver's side.

There are four bolts on the front leg, I can't get the lower rear bolt in,

-I thought of slightly rounding out the slider hole...but would have to remove it, and it would be tough drilling

-I thought of leaving the bolts out...

-I also thought of taking an impact wrench and making it work...

Then I decided to come ask some experts what to try?

Also, the hole where the brake line support has the same problem.

-I chased all the threads in the frame before lifting the slider and bolting it on, so I know threads are good and ready

-I removed the plastic plugs prior to install

-I tried using a floor jack to adjust tension and attempt to get the holes lined up, this is how I got every other bolt (on the drivers side in)

Any ideas? Also, RSG website is down cause they are not taking any orders for at least a month...so I can't access their instructions

How much torque should I put on the bolts when I get through trying to get the last two bolts in and give up

Try to leaving all the bolts loose first (only a few turns in) to be able to align, and then tighten them down

    I did that

I got one bolt in the front and one in the rear...

then used a floor jack and my buddy to lift the slider in place to line up the other holes...

I don't understand, if it is made correctly, how every bolt but these two would line up...

The bolts are in, but still loose enough for me to raise and lower the slider...but not move it back and forward
both missed bolts need the slider to go forward very little to work, but can't move it now
if I remove all the bolts and get these two to line up...others won't fit

Your idea of enlarging the mismatched holes might work out unless you want to break out the welder.

That’s a bummer, sounds like you need to remove the slider and drill an out larger hole, or go without the two bolts.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Their site isn't down, but they've put orders on hold. You can get a hold of them. I strongly suggest you call them about your issue before you go drilling or forcing anything to fit. Doing that may make it worse. Then you're screwed.

I was able to find them on their site. I used my IT MacGyver skills to re-incarnate their website and found them. (I think?) Read this pdf and tell me if it's what you needed.

How long did it take you to receive your sliders? I ordered a month ago and still haven’t received a shipping notice.

If these don’t bolt on cleanly, I’d ask for a replacement. I was about to buy these the other day and now the site is down…maybe have to try another brand…watching your results…good luck!

Just my experience, I've been to RSG metalworks work place, not the 4x4shop, the real metalworks place. It's genuine imo. I've had RSG sliders on both TRD ORP and Pro. To me it's a good product. I'm not saying it's superior than other since I haven't tried others. But with my experience it wasn't a bad product.

I ordered on Sunday June 30, UPS dropped them off Thursday August 1...

each end of the box had a styrofoam pillow and sliders and legs were wrapped with thin foam and secured with plastic wrapping
my boxes had been abused, but the approximately 300 staples in each box kept them together...no damage

My only notification was a UPS email with delivery date

I ordered HREW powder coated, he said the slider would be finished quickly...but delay is powder coating
DOM would take longer and weigh about 6 pounds more each

    Look at @kmeeg post!

Jack stands will make it MUCH easier! And a functioning floor jack

My hobo freight floor jack was leaking and I loaned my jack stands and creeper out, so I was F'd from the start

so I was resting the slider on the box and lifting to get front secured with one bolt then doing the same at the back...then using my leaking jack to take tension off so I could secure the other bolts

I did the driver's side first, then the passenger side...

Passenger side I had two guys helping me and it was really easy...all holes lined up perfectly
not sure if it was because I already did one, or had two guys there...or its just easier

I still don't have either side brake cable bolt in...
you have to thread thru the clip, then hold the clip with the line on it...while keeping bolt straight to avoid cross threading. Im sure they will fit, and I'll get to it when I get back under it to make sure everything is tight

I looked at several brands before getting RSG...

I even bought and installed Go Rhino running boards cause they were fast ship...now removed after less than 30 miles

I would buy RSG again, I don't think there is a problem with the slider...

I think it was my technique on the drivers side...having jack stands and a working floor jack, I think would make all the difference

The brake cables were the hardest on both sides for me. On the first side, I didn't see that part of the clip had gotten pinched between the slider and the frame, so I had to loosen all the other bolts enough to free it and bend the clip back into shape. Despite having chased the hole, the bolt didn't go in totally straight and its threads were somewhat damaged. I re-chased the hole and succeeded with a new bolt. The other side involved less drama, but that was still the hardest bolt.

It sounds like you're making progress. Good luck finishing it!

I had the exact same problem on mine, and the same bolt. I just ground the hole out with the slider in place with a rotary file (carbide burr on a drill) I wondered at the time if RSG's jig may have been off a bit.

OP… if you haven’t already, try loosely installing the bolts that you are having trouble with first, and then start installing the remaining bolts.

    thanks, tried that first...
if I do that, then a FEW other bolts won't fit

Im only missing that one drivers side bolt, I think I can get the brake cable bracket bolts in...
