The connector is a little below and behind this panel as shown here.

I wonder if is for the bird view button switch for those 4runners that are equipped for it?

If thats so, I wonder where would the harness connection will be under the hood for the front camera? It will be a plug and play if I can find the OEM from camera, side mirrors to activate the bird view feature.

Not worth it IMO. The resolution rivals a Commodore 64.

Anytime backup does it better than OEM and more than likely less expensive than OEM.

To each their own - If I already have the OEM connections, I don't see the value in getting an aftermarket unit, thats my honest opinion. I much rather have OEM!

Remember that just because you have a connection doesn't mean you have the wiring to where the camera would be. Good luck.

Thats exactly the whole purpose of the thread.
Regardless, there is an end to the harness connector and the actual plug is not de-pin, which also means that this DIY may be possible. Is just a matter of tracking down the harness or getting a diagram for it. There is plenty of scenarios where there is an empty connector and people end up buying what is necessary to add the feature to their vehicles, like cruise control cargo lights etc.

The connection is under the hood. The wiring harness is on all trims. So you could in theory install it. But like everyone said, the resolution is horrible. You're better off using an aftermarket.

I had the front facing/360 camera on my 2021' Tacoma and this is how it looked:

Where under the hood is it? I don’t think the screen resolution is that bad at all and is way better to have the bird eye view feature than not. I’ve seen worst resolution for sure.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure, but on the my Tacoma, it was in the same wiring bundle as the front radar sensor. If you find the wiring bundle, follow the cable and you (might) find a random plug with nothing plugged into it.

It's not the camera perse that is the issue, it's the head unit. If you upgraded the head unit the quality does improve, but not by much. I think it displays in 360 or 480 resolution. However, if you get a new head unit and a Nakita you'll get 720 or 1080p.

Do any aftermarket head units support MTM?

    It's a long list...
That empty spot is for a connector on the Limited trims for memory seat position for the driver seat. It has nothing to do with MTM. All 2020+ except the limited have no connector for that portion of the PCB header going into the BCM. My guess is the board is not populated either to support this pins.

That's interesting. I really like the bird's eye view, and synthesizing that from multiple cameras isn't straightforward. I'm also interested in the MTM features that only appear in 4Lo. They're handier than I expected, especially for putting a tire right where you want it.

Thanks for the feedback @Old Red!!
I was assuming that it wasn’t a camera feature after tracking some lines under the hood and not finding much.
