I lost the release button to fold down my rear seats. So thought I would post a thread to encourage others to occasionally tighten your button. Yes, could have had fun with this thread:)

More seriously, the button screws on a thread rod. Once lost, putting down the rear seats is a PIA. Please see the attached picture for an illustrative example.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

You can also use this latch. I'm pretty sure all 5th Gen's have 'em.

Oh, neat! I thought it was just the seat's recline function.

Oh, crap. Wait. I think you're right.

I just checked...you're right. That latch ONLY makes the seat recline. Ignore my first statement. I'm an idiot.

Ok, I found the Amazon but it says up to 2009. Do you know if it fits Gen 5?

Yeah, although failure seemed unlikely, I checked mine just now. One was tight, but the other took about four revolutions to get there.

I have a 2020 and it looks very similar to the one found on Amazon but hard to tell for sure.

Advice: remove them, add a drop of crazy glue to the inside of the knob, and tightened it down. On my first Gen 4, I lost the knob on the passenger side. Fortunately it fell into the cargo area. My second Gen 4 I did this preemptively. Again the passenger side was loose. My new 2024 Gen 5 same thing - passenger side loose.
