My thought is the rest of the message says to contact your Toyota Dealer.

    So maybe do that.

I did and I have an appointment tomorrow, in the interim, I’m wondering if anybody has any ideas of what may have happened. Sometimes there are frequent events on certain model years or may have happened to a lot of other 2020 4runners, if they got this message I have 135,000 km on my vehicle..

    Placebo adjuster.

Junk that pedal pretender and simply move your foot more for the same effect.

They provide a benefit but we won't change each other's mind and he doesn't have a pedal commander.

Slap a code reader on the ODBII port to get more info.

Problem may not be at the gas pedal end. It may be at the throttle body. Have you cleaned it recently or done any work in the area?

As far as diagnostics, you can plug in an OBD2 reader and look at live data with power on and engine off. Move the gas pedal through it's full range and see if the throttle percentage parameter gives sensible readings. Also check for fault codes.

Are your brake lights working correctly?

Welll I’m actually getting a kick and lol’ing trying to figure out if these answers are real or not because I posted as a newbie and I’m a female….
But. I Googled throttle body and that sounds like what is going on so thank you!!! And no I don’t know enough to be able to clean it out.. if I had another car I’d love to learn how to do this but I have to drive my ass to work and don’t have another vehicle so I can’t even try to locate a video on it.. thank you!

I’ll just go to the dealer tomorrow ..

Y’all so funny and some helpful!

Holy parts mark up. I'd tell them to go pound sand.

It doesn't look too hard to change. I'd try find a local mechanic.

Google says this is an alternative.

I was so hoping it was a sensor or something. I love my 4runner. I love my truck so much but I am not mechanically inclined so I share the love with you. I just don’t know Sweet F all about what’s underneath that hood!!!

The OEM pump is super expensive but aftermarket pumps are significantly cheaper. Friend of mine even runs a $200 no-name pump from Amazon and it's holding up so far.

Not sure if the dealer did any real diagnosis as the quote is scorched-earth with the pump and both switching valves (I.e. pretty much the whole system)
