8 months old, bought new having some steering wheel shaking at 65-75 mph. Doesnt always do it, and not on all roads. Interestingly the 2015 tacoma off rd developed the same after 4-5 years and nothing fixed it..not alignment or balancing tires. Must be related to the off rd capabilities?

No, not related to off-road capability. These are just really sensitive to tire balance and alignment.

I also have a theory that the shank style lug nuts have something to do with it, it's harder to get the wheel perfectly flat when installing, but that's just my .02.

I’d try a road force balance, then an alignment at a highly touted alignment shop. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for all the welcomes and for the advice. have a 15k mileage service coming up. Will have them do the balance and check alignment. strange as it will sometimes do it, sometimes not. The tacoma was the same way. Road here in NY are not in the best shape, but I've also not hit major potholes.

Yeah it's crazy, mine does it once in awhile, mostly not. I swear, even the change in weather can cause it to do it, or certain road surfaces. There's one section of 195 on my daily commute where it does it, as soon as I get past the section to fresher pavement it stops.
