Hi all, first post and a new owner of a 2018 ORP. I previously owned an Xterra, and really appreciated how the back of the back seats were plastic so that when they were folded down, it was all easily cleanable. Is there anything you can buy to cover the folded down rear seats that are cloth? I will be putting dirty mountain bikes into the folded down back constantly and don't want to muddy the carpet of the back seats. I did a cursory search, but haven't had any luck yet.

I went this route, truck bed rubber mat cut to fit.

I don't have one but hopefully one of the many that do will chime in. There may even be a thread on this?

@SlvrSlug I really like this idea. I know this is an older thread. Is there any chance you remember which truck bed liner you bought or the dimensions of the one you bought to trim down? Thanks.

Until they chime in, I'm going to go ahead and say a 6 foot rubber bed mat will do.

I have been looking for the picture of the Amazon order i posted, but to no avail. It’s in here somewhere, but i just measured front to rear and added what i thought would work for my bumper protection piece, then took the measurement between the wheel wells. Then just search until you find the right size. I just found the pic.

I've had these for 2 years. They are basically floor mat rubber, and seem to be indestructible. Carpet looks really good for all the gear I've had in the back. I had the Canvasback's but they were not heavy-duty enough. Dragging a full cooler across them a few times showed that they were not up to the task. Gave them to the wife's aunt for her 2Runner.

    100% this
My trucks floor has multiple layers
A mix of blanket, tarp, Husky mats, etc
Rear storage/flattening system even has an old computer desk chair protector mat I can pull out when needed(makes things easier to add/remove)
You could add trash bag/junk mail under floor mats when you KNOW it’s gonna be bad(just toss afterward)

Point is @goldendogwaayne that you should have something that can be easily cleaned/replaced in conjunction with the more permanent route you may take

    insulation

    side note:
I know I just described what might sound like a hoarder junk yard but you’d never know…factory carpet is pimpin’

Thanks, @SlvrSlug was just curious which one you went with as I was not sure if you found one that was already close to the shape it needed to be.

Those mats that velcro to the back of the seat are interesting for sure. Thanks @MikeS and @Stoney Ranger

I agree with the sentiment on wanting extra layers of protection can never be too safe ;) LOL yeah the canvasback seem like more of a beauty cover than a true layer of protection in my opinion. I have 2 large golden retrievers and will use this thing like a true SUV, constantly dragging stuff on the back and whatnot. Luckily I have a Tacoma for the real dirty stuff, I have one of the rubber mats in there and it is very useful.

Just trying to think of the best way to provide a true layer of protection and also make dog hair clean up.... bearable. Which is hard 2 do with 2 big dogs.

I use duct tape to get the hair off. It'll pull every hair out of the carpet.

I got the seat back liners/rear cargo liner off of Amazon. The cargo liner itself is better made and covers more than the factory Toyota mat that came with it.

Those look pretty nice, and have to protect the seat backs as well, much better than without. I like how the cargo mat goes up around the bottom edges of the two side walls. What is your assessment of the velcro attachment method to the backs of the seats?

That’s what sold me on the cargo mat, perfect fit and doesn’t slide around. The velcro on the seat backs seem to be holding up, I put those in almost a year ago and they’ve stayed in place.
