Hello all! I just did my first break in oil change at around 1000 miles on my 2024 ORP. I added exactly 6.6 quarts (using measuring containers that I have for oil change). I let the vehicle sit overnight and pulled the dip stick to allow for the oil to drain back from the tube, as well as I parked on level ground. When I check the level it is between the 2 dots and maybe an 1/8 of an inch under the top dot. Has anyone experienced this? Is it better to leave it as is since I know I put 6.6 quarts in or is it better to fill to the top dot?
My other thought is I used ramps for the oil change and may have removed more than 6.6 quarts with the 30 min drain time since I’ve read the absolute dry fill of the engine is in the 7 quart range. Thank you!

You're fine with the level! I put 6.5qts in mine and I'm right at the top dot. Drive it and enjoy!

Oh man, you just scratch the surface in oil level ocd. Check it cold and hot, engine running or not, hot ambien temperature or freezing cold, before long trip - after long trip.Oil color gold or dark. Before dealership visit and after. Before and after speaking with your wife. There are millions of conditions that affect oil level and therefore millions reasons to worry

Good lord. We now have a documented 24 hour oil long change.

You may have lost a little oil from checking the level and wiping off the dipstick 300 times.

When all else fails READ YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL!!

It clearly says that the first dot is "Low", the second dot is "Excessive", in between the 2 dots is "Normal", just to make it even easier for you it's on page 415!!

Capacity is the maximum and you just gotta be between the dots, this isn’t a Hyundai or Kia.

And measuring procedure varies, it may account for expansion of hot oil.

I gave up getting an accurate reading a long time ago.

make sure you give plenty of time for all oil to drain, add your 6.6 quarts and never check it lol
