It's brand new. Take that shit back to the dealer and have them fix it.

    Right??
Lexus already have TSB for lean and I bet Toyota will take care of 4Runner as well.

Why in the world would you touch the valves under warranty.

Hope it doesn't looked touched or they may start to void warranty on shit if they are assholes about it.

I read somewhere that 3/4" is within the tolerance of KDSS and they wouldn't touch it. I goes between 3/4 and 1 inch. Guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to them. I just heard bad things about Toyota techs at dealerships working on KDSS.

It's not. Does it have to be the same dealer I bought it from?

I have claimed warranty at a different dealership than the purchased dealership.

Any dealer contractually obligated to honor warranty, but they don't like it as Toyota pays less than regular work. Taking it to the dealer that sold you 4Runner will get sales team on your side, so it helps but not a lot.

Important! Don't mention to the service guys that you fiddled with it and don't mention that you already researched the issue. Play dumb, say something like "I parked next to a wall and noticed the car is crooked. Is it safe to drive?" Only when they say it is normal, mention TSB.

Forgive my ignorance but what is TSB?

Will they still honor it even if that TSB is for a Lexus?

Worth a try. But as Sin4R said "Only when they say it is normal, mention TSB". Its a brand new vehicle, they should treat you well.

Also filing a complaint with measurements via Toyota Owners portal play a big roll too. I had few complaints to Toyota Corp and dealers are scared of complaints from portal and take immediate action. I have experience I put a complain on a Saturday afternoon and General Manager of the dealership calling me on Sunday promising to look in to the mater first thing Monday.

Dealer allocations and sales rebates are contingent on getting good scores on Toyota surveys AND not getting flagged with complaints. So for dealership even a single complaint can result in significant monetary losses from lost allocations and lost rebates.

Currently, dealers are fighting over getting allocations of the new Land Cruisers, which is in high demand. So they will be motivated resolving this issue one way or another. Keep in mind, ONE possible way they can decide to resolve this is to blame YOU for whatever happened.

Because it's just literally 2 bolts you unscrew 2 turns and a lot of people online were able to fix their issue in 5 minutes doing one of these methods. Better than going to the dealer straight away imo

While you are there, get an early engine oil change.

Not if the dealership can tell you were messing with it and refuses to fix it under warranty.

I decided early on not to mess with mine at all, unless it became absolutely necessary.

Do you still measure that height difference when you have a full tank of gas and when someone is sitting in the driver seat?

So just picked it back up from the dealership. The tech notes said the left side was .5-.75 higher than the right. Which technically is in spec according to that TSB for Lexus which said .79. But they didn't give me any guff and the tech bled the KDSS system and re-pressurized it. Now the difference is less than .25 which I'm happy with. I can no longer see the lean with a naked eye. I don't think it'll ever be perfect on all sides with KDSS anyways. Total cost $0

It won’t ever be perfect on non-kdss either. They just tend to lean in the other direction.

Just did a quick on my non KDSS. Rear has a 0.5cm lean. Rear driver 56cm vs rear passenger 56.5cm. Will post a quick video if I can after work.

Just tested after removing the recovery box and air compressor in driver side and I was surprised to see zero lean on my non KDSS. Will post the video mid august (pushing other scheduled videos to September and later) . Most likely I will post unedited as its a short video, hope people don't mind my finger in front of camera to hit pause when I move from one side to another.

I just check my pro and zero lean as well. I’m going to be honest, I did not expect it to be as perfect as it is

Good thing nowadays there's social media to help each other. In this case KDSS seems leaking and dealer trying to escape from warranty.
