Have a 1 month old 2 row LE and picked up some tires this morning and tried to fold the back seats flat and they only go down slightly, no where near flat. Barely less than 90 degrees, maybe 80 degrees.

is this normal? Feels like the get stuck or meet resistance and I can push down any further. Photograph attached

Did you pull up and tilt the seat bottoms first before trying to move the seat backs forward?

^^^ As said, the bottoms need to come forward.

And fold down the headrest. There's a lever on the side.

You have to pull the seat bottoms forward on the ORP too.

The only way that would work is if your ORP seat bottoms had been removed. All trims work the same way, requiring the seat bottoms to be pulled up and forward before bringing the backs down.

Edit Note: All 2-Row trims are the same.

3 row models work the way OP is describing, so I wonder if he actually had an SR5 Premium before (since the third row isn't available in the OR models).

Or someone could have swapped the seats, but that seems less likely.

Hmmm. It was a 2023 ORP and I just pulled a lever and seats folded forward and flat. This 24 LE I have now works once i learned to pull the butt portion of the seat up and forward first then fold back portion of seat down. Strange things happened during Covid times, maybe it (the seat) was switched.

Yes - 2 and 3 rows operate differently.

To my knowledge, the ORP trim is not available with 3-row seating.

Hmmmmm. Now that I think about it maybe i never put the back seats flat. I had it about 2 years but could have sworn i did unless it was a loaner or rental 4runner i had.
