Took the wife’s GX460 for a wiring repair today and stumbled on this. For a while, I thought, maybe I don’t need my 4Runner and Tacoma…

Damn....these things are up there. I heard this model is much nicer than the new LC.

I would probably opt for this instead. It will be interesting to see how the reliability is. IMG_4582.png

Well, if you don't even think you need your Tacoma, then you probably don't need your tacoma. And, it looks like the GX will definitely haul people and groceries around quite well, so it can take over 4Runner duty.

Just wondering but why is it a thing to slap the smallest mirrors on now days?

Maybe I'm just used to my Tundra but everything else is just small. Harder to see when towing. I didn't even have towing mirrors on the Tundra either.

same reason they are going to turbo engines: CAFE.

Case in point, look at how big mirrors are on 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks even today for MY2024. They are not subjected to CAFE so manufacturers can put the biggest possible mirror they think the customers want and can put up with.

If mirrors affect MPG that much then they should just remove um.

Half this damn world doesn't know how to use them properly anyways.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I'd buy the Lexus before I bought the Land Cruiser. I'd get nicer amenities and it and tow A LOT more than the LC can. I can haul more people, in a quieter & nicer cabin while towing a bigger/nicer trailer! Sure, it takes premium gas but I'm getting a lot more.

4 of the 6 trim levels can tow over 9,000lbs. (From Lexus website)

    upload_2024-7-22_21-15-28.png

The LC can't (From Toyota's website)

That GX550 is very nice looking. In my opinion way better looking than the new Land Cruiser.

    Tinted fronts, blacked out overlays.
I’ve seen the Landcruiser and the GX on the road. The GX looks great, Landcruiser and the new 4runner look almost identical to me both look “boxey” I’m sure they are nice but if I had to choose it would be the GX.

I have only seen one driving in person and actually see more GX460s driving. I like the new 550 and would consider trading in my Runner for one.

I actually saw a Heritage Edition LC over the weekend. I wish I could have purchased one of those with the 3rd row delete but a $90K SUV with horrible mileage was not within my budget.

I’ll also say that this had the most comfortable drivers seat I’ve ever sat in.

Definitely. I don’t know why people pay so much more money for some basic bolt ons from the dealer.

Alot of times, for better or worse, just to roll it into the loan and have it done as they take delivery.

Maybe many don’t know you can do the same thing cheaper, outside of dealership. Maybe they assign more value to work done at dealership. I haven’t been to a dealership I didn’t instantly hate so not for me :)

The more I look at it the angrier I get that they made the front of the GX460 so bad toward the end but the moment they ditch the reliable underpin of the prior gen GX, the body now looks amazing.
