Is a body lift required for the swap or does it just make it a little easier to get things in there?

    If required, is 1/2" enough?

If not required .... would 1/2" make it easier?
Or does it need to be 1" or 2"?

    Thanks

It's the same case as you have but with a provision at the top for the shifter. You will just need to cut a hole in the body for the shifter and mess with the plastics.

I read someplace that it makes it a little easier with a body lift if you are trying to put the shifter in the stock cig lighter pocket. I'll see if I can dig that up but if anyone that has done this can chime in I would greatly appreciate it.

Required, no. Does it make it easier, yes, as it gives you a little more room to work under the truck.

I did a body lift prior to doing my swap and it helped with clearance for the shift, which needs to be modified and welded so that it comes out where the cig lighter used to be. I cut the hole in the tunnel a little too big when I did mine but this is what it looks like.

And here is what the modified shifter needs to look like when you are done.

It's not the same transfer case at all. The manual shift is completely different from the auto-shift transfer case.

They’re not exactly the same but not far off to where you would need a body lift.

Have you done the swap? I have. And as I said, a body lift isn't required but it is helpful in providing clearance in the tunnel for the new transfer case shifter.

I helped a buddy add a manual case to his prereunner Tacoma but no not the exact swap.
