Not exactly “my” 4Runner, however I helped my son and grandson install the A/C drain tube mod, Daystar lift/leveling kit and 1.25” Spidertrax wheels spacers all around on my son’s 4Runner. It looks great with the other work they have accomplished. Seeing their smiling faces when we were done was awesome! Spending time with my son and grandson is always priceless!!

It sure it. yes the holes are only into the plastic paneling. Very easy to do. Does not interfere with any of the window mechanism.

I actually make them. I’m the owner of RADO Designs.

These are interesting...what keeps them on? Do they just friction fit?

yes, they slip in with a little resistance

I installed my first set, a grey version, then removed them when I switched to red...
I needed a trim removal tool to get them out, but it was not difficult...
and it's not like there is any wind that's gonna blow them out of place

Not my 4R, put OEM roof rails on my MIL 23 Tacoma. Soft metal in the brackets got boogered up and had to go procure new bolts and rethread the holes. Made a 30 min job a 3 hour affair after having to drive around to find a m6 plug tap and new bolts.

Applied WoolWax on the undersides of my sliders, especially the crevices between the tubes and top plate, and also on the outside of the plates that mount to the frame and the mounting HW. I treated the back sides of the plates and the mounting hardware before installing.

The main disadvantages are that I'll have to clean with great diligence when I do touch-up paint, and it will collect some grit and dust. However, it displaces water and after 14 months in the land of rust it has been really effective on the frame and everything underneath.

    Smart man

I heard of the importance of doing these things a few months back. I have sliders going on hopefully July 20 - I have clear fluid film and black fluid film, Blaster Surface Shield, and Canadian manse Rust Check
What do you recommend I blast between the sliders & frame?

I'd probably do the black or clear Fluid Film, but probably any of those will do.

My ex-MIL said same thing. Used to make me chuckle. They were from the Dayton, Ohio area. But in return, she'd get mad at me for saying "yes/no ma'am."

Cali raised cat shields on today. Super easy install. There is a lot of area which I feel should have been covered. Also the spacers should be longer, as the plates bottom out on the frame too early.

Installed my RCI Transmission Skid with the Catalytic guards. Piece of mid for catalytic protections, or at least a deterrent. Got the engine skid plate and filler plate Very happy with RCI.

I put these on my 4R and Tacoma this weekend.
For the 4R, I was interested in this option for several reasons above others:
    1. price
    2. Stainless steel material (heavy gauge too)
    3. No drilling, etc
    4. they do NOT need to be removed for typical maintenance

After installing - these are the things I didn't like:
    1. spacers are aluminum (I don't know if they are anodized) but aluminum right up against stainless is probably not a good recipe
    2. zinc washers for stainless security bolts.........why not stainless?
    3. Grade 8 replacement frame mounting hardware............so, why not 10.9 metric?
    4. My rubber "bumper" did not line up well with the frame on one side.

I used stainless spacers and washers, along with metric hardware for the frame support bolts. I just feel better about that. For the bumper that did not line up, I milled down one of the spacers so I could get better alignment.

I am happy with them as a theft deterrent.

Regarding the spacer length, I did use slightly longer spacers for mine - but only about .5mm or so. I believe the included spacers are 3/8" aluminum and I used 10mm stainless.

If it makes you feel any better about the spacer length, Cali Raised does not include ANY spacers with the Tacoma shields! The recess in the frame on the Tacoma is smaller, but still should have spacers. I ended up using my own stainless spacers for that application, too.

Great product, but just a little short on perfect execution. Still my 1st choice of the available options, even if I spent a lot more time and money on them with the mods.

Probably said this initially, but it was the first and only aftermarket head unit I've had that I actually loved. I miss mine most every day and wish I had pulled it from the 2nd vehicle it ended up in. Not sure I put that into my initial comments, but it was one of the things I HAD to have from my Tacoma when I totaled it. I remember packing tools up to take with me to the impound lot and being absolutely sure I had what I needed to remove it. It ended up in my Jeep after that and sold it with the Jeep. Oh well.

Someday I'll probably get another one, as I don't think anyone else has come out with anything equivalent to it. Not even the JVC sister-model does anything for me.

If you haven't hooked a front camera to it, I highly recommend. The headunit will turn it on automatically when your speed drops. It was small things like that that made me love it.

Hand waxed and buffed the roof and hood of my 3 week old 4Runner. It sleeps outside in my driveway nightly. Amazing how much crap there was on the 4Runner roof. Someone commented on the thickness of the metal on the 4Runner. Found 2 mall scratches!
I found it to be a little lighter gauge it seems than my 06 Tacoma. Waxed up nicely. Looking on Amazon for a roof and hood cover rather than a full cover. Why? Hell if I know!
