What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Picked up the wifes new runner and brought it to my buddy to get protected.

 

The rain finally let up and I was able to install the Ironman PFC (3/2) lift, UCA's, Sherpa Crestone, Panhard correction kit, and had the 285's mounted and the alignment. It was a LONG day but a Good day. Definitely feels more solid and fun to drive! Best of all, no modification or cutting or trimming required (that was a nice surprise!) On a side note....I kinda like how the 4Runner looked without rails...maybe something to consider later on in the future....

 

How’d the balance go with those BFG’s ?

 

Bolted on the factory rock rails . And before you hard core rock crawler guys jump on me notice I said rails and not sliders .
I live in pancake flat SW Florida with no rock to crawl over. I just wanted some protection along the rocker panels .
I weighed one rail on a digital freight scale and it was 38lbs . Even with a brand new vehicle with less than 300 miles I still had to clean up the frame holes to get the bolts in . Since I didn’t have a tap I used a brass 30 caliber bore brush .

 

Surprisingly not bad. I had KO2's on my 17 Silverado and they NEVER felt balanced. I was dreading the same with the 4Runner and had steered clear of BFG's and stuck with Toyos and Falkens but... the BFG's had a really good deal at my local shop and I took the plunge again. So far so good. We'll see how they hold up.

switched out black cup holder inserts and previously bought drawers for some grey ones to match incoming grey leather Katzkin interior...

 

What make side steps?

 

found and bought some MinWin3D High Clearance Rocker End-Caps on FB marketplace for $30 - that and the mesh grille install will be the next two mods.

It's a damn shame they don't make this color anymore. It's gorgeous. I'm in the market for a 4R currently and this would be my top choice, but I'd like to buy a 24 (or 6th gen).

Well, another glorious moment in moving disasters. I haven't been very happy with the fitment of the aftermarket black hood scoop I had installed and finally I had some down time to put the stock white hood scoop back on, aaannd...It's gone now. Went searching for it, and when I asked about it...*sighs* Apparently it got lumped in with the junk destined for the trash and is gone along with some other various clips and other minor maintenance items for my FJ I had boxed up.

 

Well that sucks .

Well, I didn't do this TO my 4Runner today,but I did this WITH my 4Runner today.

I decided to park next to a sad looking white SR5 in the company parking lot. You know, to flex on the guy that my truck is cooler than his.

We've all done it before. I'm pretty sure this guy is on this site, because he has a matching white match-box 4Runner on his dash. Anyone who's loves their 4Runner that much is here.

I did the best 4runner mod. The paid off mod and some new black TRD wheels.

 

Yes, i got the Nightshade running boards and not very impressed. I can only get the heel of my foot on it, most of it seems to be uner car and not useable and looks to be made of plastic. I will probably have to research and see if there is another brand running boards that is better and comes out more.

I did XPEL UV/Heat block tint to fromt sides, will probably do back sides and windshield. I use almost clear tint so doesnt make things look too dark but still keeps heat, glare and UV out.

I have TRD Pro matte black wheels already still in boxes, 4 out of 7 friends/family members prefer the silver ORP wheels look so now trying to sell my TRD pro wheels, if no one buys I will just put them on the Limited.

ive heard yellow or amber fog lights bettr and penetrate better into fog or white out snowing driving conditions.

probably skipping the PPF, expensive and ive noticed some cars lately when walking through parking lots that have it on hood and i can see it and the edges seem to lift a little and get stained.

If you ever hear or feel clunking from the rear, check the bolt length and number of threads engaged. I had to replace mine with more threads to get the proper torque so that my lower shock was completely secured.

 

Put new shoes on her! Really liking the black wheels...now to get the blackout emblems and a suspension lift. Can't wait to get a picture of her flexed out on the trails!
