It happened much sooner than I thought, but we traded my 4runner in. We now have 2024 jeep wrangler. We got a great trade and sale on the jeep that worked out well in our favor. This will be my second wrangler, first being a 97. The jeep will actually be my wifes daily. Ill be driving the sexy ass minivan for now. Dont worry i have an account started for repairs. Ill keep checking here to see how the next gen goes!

Theres no practical reason to get a wrangler other than wanting one. It was always my wife’s favorite car. Thats the short of it.

i fell on the ice this last spring and had to have shoulder surgery. It is/has been a long recovery. She has been amazing through all of it so I thought it was the least I could do.

i bought the 4r back in 2020 for $41k. Had it 4 years, 50k miles and traded in for $36.5k. Felt good on that.

Don't feel bad about the minivan - I don't have any kids or any real practical reason to have one, and I love mine lol.

As an old Jeep guy who finally pulled the plug in 2019, I'm curious - what drivetrain (engine/tranny) is being used in the 2024 Wrangler?

I think what would kill the idea for me to ever buy a new JL would be the stop/start feature.

Transmission is manual or auto. Auto is 8 speed. The 2 standard engines are 3.6 pentastar or 2.0 turbo. I decided to join the new age and go with the turbo, my first turbo.

start stop is annoying, van has it to. Just need to prsss button to turn off when i start the car.

My wife thinks anything bigger than a Miata is a too big. I want to get her into something SUV like and the only other vehicle she would consider is a wrangler. Congratulations on the new vehicle. I’ll probably take a look at them sometime this summer. Looking good.

I am curious about the 2024 Wrangler steering: hydraulic with fluid reservoir or electric.
I too have looked at them for a lifetime. I regret not buying a 2006 unlimited Rubicon several years ago that got my attention.

Dont quote me on this, but i believe it is a hybrid system called electro hydraulic. I honestly didnt really look into that when buying. Im probably to stupid to know the difference anyway

I guess my question on the 2024 Wrangler can be clarified: my 2017 4runner has the old school hydraulic reservoir feeding the power steering pump that powers the rack & pinion steering of the front wheels. Some newer vehicles have done away with this system and use electric motors instead. WIwhale thinks its a hybrid system with features of both. I shall have to learn about this hybrid as a new vehicle for my wife is in our near future.

My neice has a new 24 wrangler 2.0T. She was getting death wobble really bad. They replaced her steering damper and it has stopped. Great trucks for off road. I wouldn't ever buy one as a daily.

That sucks, can be pretty scary. Nature of the beast. Glad it is better.

Also have the 2.0T. Performance wise I like the engine.

As far as performance, I was impressed.

On a closed course, in Mexico, I ran a 2016+ V6 accord vs the 2.0 turbo jeep. The much heavier wrangler 2.0T did extremely well. It kept up with the V6 accord for a good bit. I was truly surprised.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Exact same thing happened with my neighbor’s brand new Wrangler.

do you know what trim your neighbor has? I dont see to much on the jeep forums about brand new ones having that issue, especially on the more street oriented sport trim. More on the rubis or heavily modified rigs (suspension, big tires, etc…)
