I thought I might find something on Etsy, but no dice. Is there not a 3d printed plastic cover that snaps on over the silver cargo rails to make them look black? There is even an inner slot on the factory rail that would be perfect for a snap on anchor point for such a thing. Admittedly I know nothing about this stuff, so it must not be as simple as I’m imagining if I can’t find it. Has anyone seen anything like it? I just want the silver part of the stock cargo rails to be black. The mounting ends are already black.

edit: I know I can buy aftermarket black rails, OEM take offs, or paint/wrap mine. I was just hoping there was a simple answer that didn’t require removal of my stock rails

Leave it alone. The silver gets much less hot in the summer and won’t sustain as much UV damage.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I don't think the OP cares about how how the rails get in the summer. He probably (I'm guessing) wants to get rid of all the shiny silver or chrome on his 4Runner.

OP: I haven't seen any snap-on options to cover the silver rails. You'll have to remove the rails, which is rather easy and paint them in a matte black paint. You can use a simple rattle can though that'll cost you $5 at your local hardware store.

If you send your silver caps to me, I will remove my black ones and ship them to you.

No knowledge of anyone offering snap-on covers. Most likely because anything using that inner slot would interfere with the cross bars being able to be mounted and/or adjusted front to back.

Yeah that makes sense. I’m just surprised I guess that there isn’t an option for those of us without the crossbars installed. Seems like everything else is on Etsy

Just remove and paint them. Simple one day project.
