Oh I have the wind fairing up front it’s just hard to see. The sun roof was cracked.

Very little wind noise with it though. Highly recommend. It makes roof storage usable and staves off the need for a full roof rack.

Woops! My concern with the wind fairing is the "reported" rubbing on the roof people have experienced. Any issues with that?

The wind fairing comes with a gasket that is meant to contact the roof. It doesn’t make any noise. Their instructions say to apply a clear vinyl strip before installing. I did not do that. :)

I said I'd report back after some dirt roads. Turns out these springs are a better match off road as well. Handles rough roads and corrugations much better.

Went to LBJ grasslands and explored a bit. Setup a simple camp then the next morning I headed to the Tread Depot for a UCA swap and alignment. Here's some photos from the very busy couple days.

Notice the tower of dead SPC UCA's?... Seems like I'm not the only one who experienced a quality issue and ditched SPC entirely. Going with Apache Arms with Moog Joints. If these ball joints ever fail I will be able to install Senkei 555 (Toyota OEM) UBJ's. Steering feels much tighter and the alignment is spot on.

There's a photo of my new UCA's here. Full disclosure the spindle gusset welds in the photo don't look great because they were done previously by a different shop. I wish I would have the Tread Depot weld these in...

Tread Depots quality of work is top tier and I would recommend them without hesitation. Best shop I've been to by far.

From what I seen and read about spc uca. They are junk. Most users report issues. I've had spc uca before I switched to jba. I've had ball joint issues within 2000 miles (with spc). You'll be glad you switched.

This is a cautionary tale. Do your research before you buy components. Double check the information retailers provide. Always get info from the manufacturer directly.

Went wheeling last weekend with the new setup. Everything held up great. Springs ride better, I get better articulation off road, the rig is sitting at the perfect ride height imo. Here are some photos of last weekend's trip to a local off road park.

Too much lift!!! Time to lower my 4Runner...

1Silver4runner what a great thread super helpful for noob. I've wanted to do a performance budget setup. I've been thinking 5100s all around, OME 2885 front and 2895 rear. I'm looking for getting rid of the dive and body lean issue, I'm more a snow basher trying to get first ski tracks in Tahoe so prefer some lift, not a heavy overlander hope my build will have ~0.5" rake which is different than most of you guys that get weighted for big trips. I don't plan on adding weight to the front either. I also do some road mile trips want to minimize the constant bouncing along on the freeway.

    1. 5100 in the 2.5" setup vs 2885 springs and shock at 0 perch? I assume the 2885 OME front once settled will get an extra 0.5" lift? How is the road ride quality of 2885 vs 2.5" perch on a 5100?
    2. Rear spring 2895 this may be too high for my use and rake I want. If I get a 3" settled in the front with a 2885 in the rear this is ~2.0". Is there a rear spring that is 0.5" shorter in the rear recommend.

There is a 2895E that is supposed to be 1/4"-1/2" shorter than the 2895. If you want, I can get you fender measurements. I just installed last week, so likely still some settling to occur.

    IMG_9555.HEIC.jpg

edit: FYI, according to Mudify, OME is recommending new springs for the front rather than the 2885 style numbering.
    Edit: 4005's up front.

Beautiful truck love it. I think that is the perfect stance most are looking for. I personally like a little less rake as I don't overland. From the pics I've seen the 895e is still over 2" generally curious what you measure yours out. On the front springs if I'm reading this right there are now 5 options vs 3 before? Maybe the old 2885 is now 4005 or 4007?

The rear spring I wanted was SAW but I think its now discontinued was more a true 1.5". There is now a Billstein B12 1.5" without load and maybe 1.75" actual best I can tell.

I wish all the manufacturers would post detailed pics with every spring option with and without heavy bumpers etc.

Another consideration would be Dobinsons coils. I have run them both in my Tacoma and T4R
    C59-302 fronts- light load 2.5”
    C59-599- Rear 1.5” light load

I'm with you, was hoping for a bit more lift on the front or a more leveled stance overall. Took a gamble on the new front strut & coils. The pic exaggerates the rake a little bit, but were hoping the rear settles a bit more than the front or I'll look into doing something to raise the front or lower the rear.

Ride quality is exactly what we were going after. Rides great, minimally firmer but very smooth and will work great for mall crawling duties.

Nice had not heard about Dobinson do you have a pic or just running on your Tacoma? It's so hard to tell as most never measure to what they say so confusing.

Thanks that looks nice the rake seems to be more in the 0.5" range I want. How does Dobinson springs ride vs OME? I imagine I can still use a budget shock like 5100 with those springs?

Just measured F&R since you had asked

    Front: 22.5"
    Rear: 24.5"

Stock seems to be around 20"F/22"R, so 2.5" over stock. Everything I've read online says the rear 2895e's *should* be at minimum a 1/2" lower than my measurements. I might go flex it out and leave the springs compressed for a bit to see if that helps break them in.

I don’t have an opinion of rides between the two… never used OME stuff, but I am sure the ride is comparable. I chose Dobinsons bc at the time OME stuff was known for sagging.
