I proactively replaced mine and IIRC, I had to buy a pack of 2. I’ll have to look, but if I do have a spare, it’s yours if you want it.

So, lucky me, I got a screw in my tire. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 265/70R17. Question: What`s the difference between the A/T3W and the A/T4W ?

I could be mistaken but I think the A/T4W is a replacement for the discontinued A/T3W.

Edit: I did a search and this what it says on their website...

    https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at4w#:~:text=Improved Towing Performance,compared to the A/T3W.

    "WILDPEAK A/T4W
From backcountry trails to the open road, the all-new Wildpeak A/T4W is built to help you tackle any terrain. Featuring staggered shoulder blocks, and proprietary 3-ply DURASPEC Sidewall Technology on select sizes, the A/T4W provides all-terrain confidence and rugged durability. Updated Heat Diffuser technology, tread rigidity, and the addition of Heavy Duty (HD) sizes ensure the A/T4W delivers improved towing capability compared to its predecessor. The severe-snow-rated A/T4W was engineered to perform in harsh winter conditions, with full-depth sipes providing traction for the life of the tire. Offering up to a 65,000-mile Limited Tread Life Warranty (60,000-mile for LT sizes) and Road Hazard Protection, Falken’s best just got better. Command any road and every adventure with the Wildpeak A/T4W."

Checked my notes and I actually kept my OEM bushing as a spare since it was preventative, so I don't think that does you any good. I also noted feeling like a moron for paying like $20 for the part b/c I didn't do my homework. It's p/n 33835-08010 and available from Toyota or on Amazon for much less.

Thanks, I'll stop my local dealer and see if they have one, online the MSRP is around $3 so by not paying shipping it's worth getting it local.

You may be aware but I often order OEM parts on Toyota's site with the local dealer pickup option.

The upshot from reviewers has that tyhe A/T4W has beefier sidewalls and weighs more.

I ran over to my local dealer and they had only one left in stock, it's now mine, $3.20!!

You used the aftermarket bushing didn't you?

This bushing doesn't look anything like the aftermarket bushing or like the original one you posted on the other T4R forum, this one doesn't have the tapered outside, it's just a straight side, but it does have a lip like the original bushing, it appears to be the correct size, I'm just not sure if it will stay on the pin without some type of retainer.

I went back to the suggested orientation of the control box and man, I wish I did this the first time! Ha! Now the winch cover is inclusive of the box!

Thanks guys. The counter guys said exactly that. The 4W replaces the 3W. It has thicker sidewalls and a different compound.

I also found out during the process, I had two studs on the LR sheared or cross-threaded:muscleflexing: and one on Rt Front was sheared off. I knew about the RF. and the cross-threaded stud but not the other sheared one...

I looked into ordering studs from ToyotaPartsDeal.com and they come in packs of 10 ? for a six-lug wheel? really ?...smh...whatever.

So ONE pack of ten is $36 and shipping is $53:rofl:
    Maybe I`m just tired...

Replaced the passenger side CV axle. Not a bad job, thankful for the YouTube tutorials.

I went and bought an "Official" Toyota Repair Manual off Ebay. A monster. 2-2 1/2 inches thick...and NOT ONE PAGE concerning the brakes. Not even an exploded view picture. Not even listed in the table of contents...how stupid is that ???:annoyed::facepalm:

That's because there's at least 4 "Official" Toyota Repair Manual" books that size that's makes up the complete Toyota Shop Manual for your year model T4R, even more than 4 if you want the electrical manual as well!!!

I have the FSM for my 2007. Not sure if 100% will be applicable to an '03 but if you want to PM me your email address, I'll send you the section covering the brakes.

Unfortunately the info provided at that link appears to be very outdated, it describes the master cylinder being mounted to a "vacuum" brake booster, the last vacuum boosters were on the 3rd Gens, so it most likely will not be useful for most of us!!

Not dumb at all, every forum is different and it’s often not intuitive. Tap or click my username at the top of this post and a box should pop up. Then tap or click “start a conversation.”

So, I replaced the two front studs that were broke/stripped and they were easy...the back ones, with the drum brake-shoe parking brake set-up...whewww:censored: juggling all those springs and the retainer with that funky spade pin that wouldn`t stay put and the cap over the spring that I chased 15 times !!!!!:frustrated:

With the help of my shop partner who also struggled with it for a minute, I finally got it done, but the whole time I was thinking that for NEXT TIME...one of two options...

    A) pull the axle out a little and you don`t have to deal with the brake shoes at all...
    B) take it to an Indie shop, let them sweat over it.

Are OEM Alternators the only way to go? They are expensive, even for a remanufactured one (can't find new anyways). $278.88 from local dealer, and that price matches others i've seen online. $75 core charge on top. I checked RockAuto but they don't have Denso listed as an option. When i was putting my Ark fender liners on, i noticed my alternator was looking crusty as fudge so just planning ahead.

Replaced my old Bazooka bass tube subwoofer with a Rockville RW68CA. Nice value for the money (~$100), easy installation, sounds great, responsive customer support (I had a question), and fits perfectly (if snugly) under the driver’s seat. This is with the flap up out of the way.
