    Yokohama AT's, Bilstein 5100's, Talon's Garage full skids.
    You're already driving a TRD Off Road so you wouldn't have been shit out of luck. I've found the locker to be more effective than A-trac in some situations. A-trac is an added bonus on top of a locker or for those that don't have a locker.

    Traction requires the tires to be on the ground, Atrac, locker or open. SFA is better for that. Nice video comparison.

    Kind of interesting to see that with SFA flex no traction aids were necessary. Where as the 4Runner was helpless without them.

    I've been Jeep curious lately.

    I'm visiting California next week and will be renting a two door 4WD jeep. I'm sure it will be the base model without lockers or sway bar discos.

    I'll be curious how it drives on road. Hopefully I'll have time to hit a couple trails and see what happens.

    I've owned three Wranglers, all two-door.

    I think what you're going to find is the ride is completely different. The 13" difference in wheelbase will make a huge difference in how it rides on-road, especially noticeable if you're in So California. The So California freeway expansion joints are terrible, and you'll be a lot of up and down dive end to end. Parking, you'll find it's like driving a toy. The short wheelbase is incredible, which is what makes it incredible off road as well.

    If you have time to take it on trails, you'll probably notice it will not handle washboard roads well and you'll feel like you're riding a 1980-something YZ250 with the ass-end continually kicking out. On the other hand though, when you're in 4-low and going less than 5 mph, it will walk through things you will be surprised at. If you end up in a four-door Wrangler, I'd like to know what you think about the ride.

    Yeah, nuts. A Jeep sbouldn't cost more than 25. But then a Rav4 TRD Offroad is $44,000. The whole industry is messed up.

    Base prices don't mean anything, Toyota doesn't let you build and order. You are at the mercy of whatever is available with whatever options. My TRD Offroad Premium's sticker price was $51,300.

    I rented a 2 door JK Rubicon in Moab a few years back. It was lifted 2.5" with Currie Antirock sway bars. I was so excited, wheeling a Jeep in Moab was a bucket list thing, and I had been lusting over a 2 door Jeep for a while.

    No joke, I pulled out of the lot and around the corner to the main road, and I was like WTF! This thing sucks!

    As soon as I hit dirt though, it was fan-f*cking-tastic and I fell in love with it.

    I got uses to it on road fairly quickly, but wow. It was definitely like hitting the EZ-Button off-road.

    I still would LOVE to have a 4door JL though, just not as a DD on my 60 mile commute.

    I had a 2020 JL Rubicon (2 door) that I sold last year. I’d have kept the Rubi if the hood, doors and tailgate hadn’t been sloppily repaired and repainted by Jeep due to the ongoing issue with rust. It ended up looking really crappy and I just wasn’t willing to live with that long term in a vehicle so expensive. That being said, the Rubicon was superior to the 4R in every situation I’ve ever encountered off road or in deep snow. That thing was unstoppable and would crawl over just about anything in 4L. With the lockers and sway bar disconnected, there’s just nothing out there that can hang with it in stock form.

    Ha! Yeah, on road manners are not their thing. Now imagine when the steering components wear out, death wobble is scary. The only way to avoid that is to be on top of your game when it comes to preventative maintenance. Jeeps are expensive to maintain.
