Just took ownership of a 2016 SR5 Premium and it came with one key. The kind with the key/fob as an integrated all-in one piece, not a separate fob. So, I bought a couple of "Keyless Remote Entry" keys (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y2FRXSG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) and can't figure out how to program them. I looked around Google and consistently see 2 methods. One that cycles the lock/unlock 5 times with other actions and one that relies primarily upon door open/close in sequence with key on/off actions. Neither sequence puts me in programming mode. I do notice that all of these videos seem oriented towards programming a fob, not an integrated fob/key. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks!

Hopefully someone has the knowledge and skills to share. I went down this route and came to the conclusion that I'd have to use the dealership service or a locksmith to get them programmed.

So, here is how this resolved. None of the on-line procedures worked to put the car into "programming mode". So, I started making calls. Spoiler alert, $150 to program 2 keys and integrated fob (which I bought from Amazon for $25). But the details are fun ...

Ace Hardware will do this for $75 per key (not all Ace's just yet), but you have to buy the key from them and they could not quote me a price over the phone. Besides, I had already purchased blanks.

I called the local Toyota dealership to get a price (to set a baseline). No-one knew, so I left a message with Service.

Went to Yelp and started a search which created a "project" and sent out price requests to 3-4 local businesses. I started getting texts within minutes. First guy quoted me $160, but he is mobile and couldn't get to me that day. Next business quoted me $150 and was a 5 minute drive away. Done!! Took 10 minutes once I got there. 100% satisfaction.

On the way back home, Toyota Service called me back and told me it would be $460 PER KEY!!! I couldn't help myself, I spontaneously laughed at him. He may have been insulted. I should feel bad I know, but ....

Lesson: use a local locksmith. You will get a solid and reliable job for a fair price and will support local business.

I found your method to be the answer when I needed a couple of new keys and fobs (which are separate) for my 2003 Tacoma. A local locksmith was more than willing and able to give me what I needed at a reasonable price. I got the keys and fobs from Amazon, he did the rest.
