got my gobi stealth on today. man its a hot one.

so when i was taking off the stock rack, one of the plastic slots with the threads underneath fell into the headliner. i was unable to retrieve it. i looked up how to get the headliner off and its like an 80 step process so i figure its something ill need to tackle later. i basically siliconed the crap out of the underside of the rack footing and then added silicone and pushed the bolt in as far as it would go and siliconed around it. just what i gotta deal with for now...hopefully it works in the short term. pretty easy install overall, but took a bit of time. happy with the rack!

What materials are you using for this? I’ve seen this mod pop up a bunch. Should do this myself.

Installed the LabOps Gear Dash Mount for the 4Runner 2010-2024. I have a 2023 and it was a little different then the video they have. But it was easy enough.. I like it.. I also bought very short charging cable incase I need to charge the phone.. I dont like a lot of cables hanging low and all over... Also you need the Ram mounts tough-ball 1/4"-20x.25". That works perfect the 20x.5 is to long doesn't sit flush.. And yes I hate that cable on the dash cam and am going to fix that this weekend...

I went to the shop an discussed with an expert named Mr Scott. He said replacing the entire cat back is my best option. I tried to keep the side exhaust but he was against it.

I guess I have to check with Mrs again what can be done. I really like to keep the factory look with side exhaust.

Did they explain why they couldn't fabricate the exhaust to come out the side?

Do you have a final coat count? Did they come raw or are you resurfacing them from abuse?

There were rocks chips in the powder coat. Nothing bad, but since they are off the car I figure I would give it a fresh coat. I used purple power degreaser and 2 coats of truck bed liner. It's got a slightly textured feel to it.

forgot i also swapped out some halogen for led's. the parking light led's worked great.
i swapped the DLR/signals and the LED's work in turn signal mode on each side, but when i turn the DRL on, they dont go on at all now? i put the halogen back in the left side and it also did not go on in DRL mode? i just left the LED's for the DRL in bc they are easy to access and i can mess with them later, but i dont know why that was happening...

One more job done on the DIY-maintenance-list: Power steering fluid changed. :D
Front brake pads and brake fluid should be replaced this weekend. If I get the vacuum extractor from my coworker.

Cleaned and chased bolt holes in the frame. It was tedious and probably wasn't necessary, but I can be sure of not having problems with a properly started bolt.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I like the look of steelies on a White Runner. Nice!

Traded in my white 23 ORP for a 24 silver LE.

    Will take some better pictures.

1st will need running boards. Anyone recommend some that don’t hang down so low? I’ve seen some posts that say to use SR5 bracket and running board b/c the bracket hangs down less. I’ve seen some recommended a N-Fab nerf step kind that supposedly hangs down less.

2nd will be windshield and front side window uv block.

3rd possibly hood and bumper PPF

4th TRD pro wheels and 255/75r17 AT tires

    5th amber LED fog lights

    My personal opinion -

    1st will need running boards.
    - I dislike running boards on 4Runner Limited. They look ugly to me. I prefer Automatic running boards, but may not be as reliable. Mine are working for 5 years but who knows when they might fail?

2nd will be windshield and front side window up block.- Are you talking about tint? In the past I did 70% 3M crystalline tint on my windshield and it was too dark to my taste driving at night. For my 4Runner I did 90% 3M crystalline tint and it was perfect for me. For sure at night nothing better than any tint. For the 2 front I asked the tint shop to match the rear. But in summer I wish I go little darker yet I don't want illegal level of darkness.

3rd possibly hood and bumper PPF - I dislike the PPF installed by Toyota dealer on my previous car as it got yellowish with time. That car was white so it was little ugly. I have AVS bug shield on my 4Runner and so far no complaints.

4th TRD pro wheels and 255/75r17 AT tires - I'm not a fan of TRD Pro wheels and skinny tires. I like wider TRD offroad wheels and to my eyes they really match a Silver 4Runner. I specifically picked TRD offroad wheels because they meet the spec to run bigger tires. As stock I would much prefer P265/70R17 tires to complement the look of 4Runner.

5th amber LED fog lights - I dislike amber lights are they have less light output than white. I can also run white on daily basis without annoying other drivers. And stock white TRD Pro fog lights works pretty well on foggy conditions so far with my experience. (Fog lights are little different from trim to trim). Changing fogs on a Limited is not easy as SR5/TRD ORP. For my Limited that came with halogen fog lights I changed to TRD Pro like fog lights.

@djwantke finally got it in the shop TODAY to get rims put on. Also getting an alignment while at it. Steering wheel had a small wobble while driving I've noticed over past few weeks. Will post pics after I get Casper back.
