Still can't read huh? That's ok. I got you bru.

Posted this in response to Wax poetic. Double checked and verified it's not full time. But yah, go ahead and spend more time looking for answers from the vloggers.

Buddy buddy , I already know the trail hunter is not full time neither is the pro because Sheldon the head engineer literally says it in several videos . Plus buddy posted it right above you. All that says is that the trims either have it or don't but please keep trying to prove me wrong as you look foolish . Those 2 models are off road models , they don't come with full time , only part time . And I'm sure someone else will eventually say the samething but you won't believe them .

Did you happen to read the part where he said he would have to double check, and then posted the correct information?

Excuse me , did you read his response where he responded like a dick to me for no reason . If he hadn't spoken to me the way he did and just owned he was wrong I wouldn't have had an issue . But he didn't, he chose to be rude about it even though he was wrong . I expect that from jeep guys but not here.

To be fair, I don't even know what you guys are arguing about. I was just pointing out that he had corrected himself earlier.

Either way, it seems like there's a surplus of rudeness all over this forum lately.

I sniffed a brand new Tacoma in the showroom. I love the interior and the front end.

Reacting to the messages above, this is confusing as hell since it's not correct on many levels (if I understood correctly).
To be fair, editing your post with the correct info would be helpful

    Curious, why buy a 2Runner?

I feel like there are a lot of better options for daily driving and paved road duties, if you don't need 4WD.

I had a 2007 4Runner 2WD in FL. Never needed 4WD. I don’t off road and no snow in the south. Loved that truck. More than my 2023 SR5P 4WD.

Maybe I missed it, but do the new Toyota turbo engines require premium fuel?

that depends. on the LC250, reports are that it requires premium fuel (as denoted with a sticker on the fuel door inside), which will be a first for a non sports car toyota.

Does it have a locking gas cap and maybe a cat shield of some sort?

That's interesting. So Toyota claiming EPA regulations and better gas mileage to save money, then build something that requires premium.

91 ron is not the same as pump listing octane.

91 ron is roughly the same as 87 pump rating if memory serves correctly.

edit : ack read that wrong, you are correct. read the 91 as ron rating, and casually glanced over the 96 ron in ()

but on the new 2024 tacoma is only requires 87 pump rating (91 ron). so it looks like the tacoma and most likely the 4runner will only require 87 (91 ron) vs the LC250 mandating 91 (96 ron)

pulled from the 24 tacoma non hv manual

    section 8.1 specifications
    page 615

    edit : better screenshot pic

I can buy an awful lot of offroad accessories and gas for the price difference between my 24 Pro and a 2025 Pro, and I can do it without questionable reliability. I can also do it with a fully flat folding rear seat. That's all before you add the dealer markup to it (around here will probably be $10k).

also wanted to add, pulled the tacoma hv owners manual. it also only states 87 (91 ron)

so it looks like the LC250 is going the premium route for the same engine. dont know why it would be tuned differently than the tacoma or most likely the 4runner.

Around here in MA the price jump from regular to premium is anywhere from $0.80 to $1.40. Depending on how much you drive that’s an extra $1,000 to $2,000 a year. Keep that vehicle for 10 years and you just spent an extra $10,000 to $20,000 on premium gas. Thats absurd. For what? A tiny more HP and/or tiny bit better mpg?

Those numbers don't add up the same for me.

The 2024 Landcruiser gets 37.5% better city mpg and 31.6% better highway mpg than the 2024 4Runner. 2025 4Runner is expected to be even better.

As pointed out above, you don't have to put in premium, but even if I did use premium I would save $ on gas buying a 2025 over a 2024.
Currently in OK reg is $2.97, premium is $3.17. Figuring city mpg on both:
    15,000 miles year, 19 mpg = 789 gallons x $2.97 = $2,343
    15,000 miles year, 22 mpg = 681 gallons x $3.17 = $2,158

    2024- 270hp/278tq
    2025- 326hp/465tq
20% increase in HP and 67% increase in torque is considered tiny??

Huh? I’m wasn’t comparing the LC to a 4Runner. I was comparing the same engine tuned for 87 vs that same engine tuned for 91.
