Could you help me. I have 2 options, a 2024 TRD Pro Midnight Black Metallic (Base MSRP $55,170) or a 2024 TRD Off Road Underground (Base MSRP $47,130 -$3135 Off). What do you think? Best option?

Best option is what suits you. Since you posted the trim, color, MSRP combination I’m assuming these are your deciding factors. Go with the lower MSRP and if you need more off road specific capability you can upgrade the way you want it.

Not that is relevant now, but I believe the Pro's have a higher resale value. :notsure:Plus I like the looks of the pro over the TRD OR, I had a 2018 TRD OR great vehicle too. Get what you want for what ever reason!:hattip:

Depends on what you want to do with it.

If you want to do hardcore offloading and don't care about technology and creature comforts - Get the ORP and modify it. you will come out ahead in the end cost wise.

If you want something thats capable stock for mild offroading with no mods, and has some more creature comforts (like auto climate) then the Pro is not a bad choice.

Higher resale = higher initial cost.

No resale dollar advantage from either, moot point.

IMO if you plan on changing suspension go with the TRD ORP.
If you want to keep the stock suspension, the Pro comes with good Fox suspension.

That said, it's a hefty price difference.
I went with the ORP because I knew I'd modify it. For the cost difference alone you could upgrade suspension, tires, and add a bumper/ winch. So my vote would go to the ORP.

As long as TRD ORP don't have KDSS the TRD Pro vs TRD ORP is a tough choice.
If TRD ORP has KDSS its out of the question I would pick TRD PRO without a second thought.

TRD Pro having small things like remote start, auto headlights, JBL sounds, 360 camera, heated steering is very nice to have. But I'm not a fan of narrow wheels, entry level offroadable suspension, non matching spare tire, poor performing A/T tires.

By not buying TRD Pro I can put that money towards the TRD ORP for proper 2.5in body adjustable suspension to my taste, better and winter rated A/T tires with matching spare tire, a nice audio system that is made to fit in 4Runner, a remote start system with phone integration, etc..

TRD ORP almost the same thing where TRD Pro gets all the TRD Pro stuff after it arrives in the USA. Practically TRD PRO final assembly point USA vs TRD ORP is pure Japan.

lol nothing in the pro is worth $11k premium.

if your ORP has MTM, then that further diminishes the value from the pro trim. Do you really value dual zone climate and remote start?

Outside of those none-upgradable options, Pro is largely a suspension package.

the pro has a loud droning exhaust. You may or may not like that

KDSS was one of the factors for myself to go with the ORP rather than the Pro.
For us cost was not a major issue and we could’ve ended up with a Pro if KDSS was available, as this is most likely to be our last 4R….we’re old.
Common sense would dictate a Limited but we like the TRD’s.

I don't consider the Fox suspension an upgrade, so it's money spent on "show, but no-go". Since the Pro comes with the mediocre big-name, over-priced, suspension, and the ORP can be had with KDSS, it was a no-brainer for me. The KDSS is far and away better than the Fox suspension (on road and off), and you can always add Fox shocks if you're interested in that sort of thing.

Oh I see the OP was comparing trd pro against Off Road (non-premium) ?

If so, you are also lacking softex seat material, and heated steering wheel, and sunroof..

those can also be make or break differences. I NEED those , in addition to the MTM camera system.

Having found an ORP with those boxes checked, the pro was not a compelling trim at all. I hate the exhaust drone on it

Yep, Limited is a nice trim too, in fact the best for my wife. Even I enjoy it driving in winter.
I did enjoy my TRD ORP and SR5. Sometimes I wish I kept my SR5.

I believe the OP is comparing the ORP as that has $47,130 MSRP.
To get a ORP for 44K is a heck of a deal. MTM would be additional.
