OEM or After Market Gaskets?

I suspect that I have a blown head gasket on my 00’ 4runner. Do I need OEM gaskets or could I go the after market route and save more $$? Which do y’all recommend?

OEM ALWAYS, if you only want to do it once.

 

OEM will get you another 20 years.

Aftermarket will get you a year or two.

OEM is way cheaper per mile.

Your choice.

 

With such an important repair, I would not even entertain aftermarket. In fact, its a blessing that they have not discontinued the OEM stuff and still produce it.
