Hey all! Just picked up a new 18 4Runner in the Offroad flavor. I had major issues with my 16 Tacoma Offroad so needed to get something else. Landed on this beauty. C8AC0F85-42F0-47BF-8A4D-2F3F96980861.jpgThrowing on some billies, grey sema wheels, and 255/75/17 Ko2’s. Got a trip next week to Grand Staircase. We shall see how she does. 173EDD14-41A4-4AEA-BF66-76AFEE53C823.jpgGonna miss the look of that truck, but damn I love the way this Runner drives. Glad I made the switch!

No more gear hunting. More power with the 4R. No more vibrations.

I was anxious about the 4runner drivability going up the canyons around Salt Lake. After my drive this weekend I’m overjoyed with the way it drives. Seriously makes the Tacoma’s seem like total crap. Always hated the shifting and vibrations. This things a Cadillac compared to the truck.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a 16 Colorado Z71 with only 20k miles on it, and I had the same issues. Rattling, clunking, squeaking. Drove me insane. Trades it in for a T4R last month and so far I am very happy. Eff the mid-size trucks!

I had the same problems with my Taco--dealer could not fix and traded into a 4R. I have not experienced any of the drivability problems I had with the Tacoma. From what I hear they still can't or won't fix it.

I think midsize trucks are the biggest ripoff in the automotive industry. It took me several of them to learn this. Wish I had all that money back.

Same here went from a TRD pro taco to an ORP T4R and I'm loving it. So much more interior space and my kids aren't crammed inside the can of the truck .

Traded my taco for a 4R in May with zero regrets. Just got my clazzio seats installed. Now this baby is perfect.

Had the clazzios in my Tacoma. I’m thinking of going with a canvas type cover this time. Hopefully the CalTrends work out. Those do look quite nice though.

What other problems did you have with your taco? Or was it just the vibes you couldn't handle?

The sheetmetal and some of the spot welds had failed under the hood. Inside the engine bay everything had been rattled apart. Got a quote for $5500 to fix, so I did this instead.

It was shaking and vibrating in the gas pedal [during acceleration] so much that my leg went numb after 45 minutes. Toyota considered this "normal operation."
