Limited Pizza Cutters

Looking into adding 255/75r17 on 17” trd pro wheels to an otherwise stock 2024 Limited.

anyone know if this works without rubbing and how this looks on a limited? Any pictures of this size on an unlifted Limited?

I know this would look good on other trims but the Limited is a different beast.

 

Backspacing and offset of the rim you choose will determine how the wheel fits. The OEM 20” wheel has a 4.5 backspace and offset +15. I’m running the OEM off road premium 4Runner wheels as they match in offset and the backspace is 4.875. These fit nearly perfect. I had to heat the front driver side fender liner to push it out a hair to eliminate the rub full chocked in reverse only. This took only 10 minutes and you couldn’t tell it was pushed out as it was so minor. Check out a few wheel calculators online that illustrate the offset and backspace as they calculate it for you and can show you visually how they fit and or compare to your original wheels

 

Looks nice. Do you have any lift? What size tires, 255/75r17?

No lift everything is stock. I picked up a 4 pack of off road premium wheels on Craigslist for $350 and got a matching single spare tire rim from eBay for $50 bucks. I’m running the oem size Falken WildPeaks in 265/70/17. The 17” wheel vs your oem 20” are nearly identical in height with the 17” setup being.01” higher. See attachment shows the comparison. My gas mileage probably went down a hair as there is more contact patch with the 265/70/17 on a 7.5” wide rim vs the 20” x7” wide rim but it’s negligible and worth it for looks alone in my opinion.

 

Cool. Do you notice any ride improvement or softer type ride over bumps on it since you have more rubber and less wheel?

 

I think the ride is a little better and the 3pmsf wildpeaks are fantastic in the wet and snowy weather I encounter in the northeast. I saved my 20 inchers thinking I would switch back and forth for winter/summer but never did as I’m happy with the 17” oem size and setup. I think the oem TRD wheels you were considering are 7” wide vs the ORP wheels at 7.5” wide if that’s important to you. I was doing the same search as you a year and a half ago and went with the ORP wheels because of the no thinking aspect. It gave the vehicle a new look, matches the decor and was oem all be it a different model but basically all the same. No guess work as to what fits and doesn’t, with backspacing offset, size etc. I took the easy route and cheapest. I think with 5 wheels and 5 tires it was only about $1400 and change vs $1200 for 4x20” tires only. Lots of take offs available on the ORP wheels and they are relatively inexpensive.

 

Lots of offroad wheels as many get rid of them. Pro wheels will cost more.

I just bought a set of those Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail in 265/70-17 for my 2024 Limited. I bought a set of TRD Offroad wheels from someone on this forum to replace the stock pizza cutters. It's too soon to give my impressions of them other than that I think they look good. But I've got about a 100 miles on them - all highway and all dry. Sorry I don't have any pics.

 

Is 255/75/17 the golden standard in pizza cutter size or do people often run 255/80/17's?
