Deciding between Nitto Terra Grapplers and KO2s

Anyone have nitto terra grapplers on their runner. I have a limited but just purchased some 17’s. Im stuck between these and the bf’s ko2

 

me, have had them on for 3yrs great tires, lots of weeked warriors and DD use these tires. look great good side wall and edge tread.

 

Just put on the Ridge Grappler 285/70 R17 only 2100 miles on them. They are not loud and so far I have no complaints, other than the 1.5 MPG loss. They get a lot of compliments!

EDIT 9/4/2018 - IF YOU GO WITH THE RIDGE GRAPPLER---- Make sure to get the load range C which is the 6 ply, the overall diameter is 32.76" and the weight (57.89 LBS.) is a little less than the ones with more plys. If you do a 3" lift you will not have to do any trimming because of rubbing with the 32.76" overall diameter.

I will let you read the overview on each, so I don't have to do so much typing. LOL!
Be sure to look at the different tread design, the Ridge Grappler is more aggressive looking on the tread and sidewall! But the the Ridge G. is not noisy at all in my opinion.

 

I also am running ridge grapplers, and I think they are a really good tire. No louder than the Toyo AT2’s I was running on my Tacoma.

Planning on ridge grapplers for mine soon..love the look of the tire! Glad to hear it isn't too loud as this is my DD.

 

I have the ridge grapplers. Had them for about 1000 miles now. On the road they hardly make a noise and off road I was very pleased with the performance. Would highly recommend them!

 

Have the RGs in 285/70/17 in load C for over 10K miles now.
Pretty quiet on the street and have gotten a little nosier as they wear, but for as aggressive as the tread is it is still considered quiet in my book.
I run 35 PSI on the road and air down to 15 PSI off road.
I'd buy them again and they balanced out perfectly.

 

RG's also 285/70/17 had them over a year great tire and performance

 

I’ve got Terra’s on my runner, it came with them. I love them, ride well, quiet, only downfall is in mud, not too good there. My next set of tires will be the ridge grapplers.

 

I’ve got 35k on a set of Ridge Grapplers. Estimate about 20k miles life remaining. They have been great and I’ll get another set when these are worn out. Still decently quiet; I rotate every 5k. Have been great in all terrain that a daily driver will see.

 

What size grapplers do you have @Dark Knight and also are you running stock suspension?

 

285/70/17 C range. King suspension @ about 2” lift.

 

What PSI do you run in your tires?

 

34psig all the way around

 

what about when you go off road?

 

I run 36psi on road and 32-28 on trail less I need xtreme grip

 

16-18 off road

 

I have an SR5 that I just put TRD wheels on. Will 275s rub or do I need to stick with 265s?

 

Two things:

1) For the main question of this forum: I've run both BFG K02s (on 275s), and now run the Nitto Grapplers (on 295s). Both are really good tires on and off road. The Nittos give me more performance in Mud and overall, but they are larger and wider. You can't really go wrong with either tire, however. Thumbs up to them both.

2) For the question on TRD wheels and rubbing: good chance 275s will rub, especially if no lift. My 275s (BFG K02s) rubbed on the inside of the tire at full articulation (in reverse), with the mudflaps removed; the truck had a 2 inch spacer lift at the time. When I went to a 3-inch toytech lift, the rubbing from the 275s went away (full disclosure: I also put on the Shrockworks front bumper, which removes a lot of material).

3) bonus comment: I now have Nitto 295s on a Stage 7 Icon, and needed a slight BMC.
